KB5039239 is the June 15, 2024 update for Windows 11 version 24H2, identified as OS Build 26100.863. It fixes Bluetooth audio volume and an Arm64 gaming compatibility issue, changes Copilot’s taskbar experience, and includes File Explorer and WMIC details administrators should know. Microsoft also documented a Roblox issue on Arm devices.
This is a historical release update, not a current Windows 11 preview build. Microsoft Support lists the update for Windows 11 version 24H2, all editions; the Windows Insider Program Team separately describes its Release Preview rollout and access path.

The Insider context is narrower: the Windows Insider Program Team said on June 15 that rollout of Build 26100.863 to the Release Preview Channel had resumed. That channel announcement describes an Insider rollout, while the support article’s “all editions” applicability is the broader servicing designation. The Insider post was first published May 22, 2024 and updated with the June 15 rollout notice.

What does Windows 11 Build 26100.863 change or fix?
Bluetooth audio volume on connection
The update addresses a Bluetooth audio issue that set a device’s volume to maximum when connected. Microsoft Support describes it this way: “This update addresses an issue that affects the audio for a Bluetooth device. When you connect it, the volume is set to maximum.”
BattlEye games on Arm64
KB5039239 addresses an issue that might prevent games using BattlEye anti-cheat from working on Arm64 devices. Microsoft does not characterize this as a fix for every game or every Arm device.
Copilot taskbar behavior
Copilot is pinned to the taskbar and behaves like an app window: users can resize it, move it, and snap it. This describes the experience included in this update, not a claim about Copilot’s current behavior on every Windows release.

File Explorer and files from untrusted locations
File Explorer adds a Mark of the Web tag to files and folders from untrusted locations that MapUrlToZone classifies as Internet. Microsoft notes that this can change the item’s LastWriteTime and might affect scenarios that rely on file-copy operations. It does not say that all file copies fail.

WMIC Feature on Demand default
For new installations, the WMIC Feature on Demand default is Disabled. Upgrading to Windows 11 24H2 leaves that default Enabled. The distinction matters when planning a fresh deployment versus an in-place upgrade.
Known issue: Roblox on Arm devices
Microsoft lists a problem in which players on Arm devices may be unable to download and play Roblox through the Microsoft Store on Windows. Its stated workaround is to download Roblox directly from Roblox.com. The notice is specific to Arm devices and the Microsoft Store route; it does not describe a general Roblox problem on all Windows PCs.
How was KB5039239 offered to Release Preview users?
For the 2024 Release Preview rollout, eligible Insiders using PCs that met Windows 11 hardware requirements could open Settings > Windows Update and choose the Windows 11 version 24H2 update. Microsoft described this as an optional “seeker” experience; normal servicing updates would continue through Windows Update.

In a May 29 update to its post, Microsoft said users who had not yet received the offer could use an ISO. That ISO was Build 26100.560, and joining Release Preview would move it to Build 26100.712. It was not Build 26100.863. On June 15, the Insider team announced that rollout of 26100.863 had resumed.

The Microsoft Support article lists four channels. Their behavior differs by audience and delivery mechanism:
