What Lovense showed at CES
Emily was presented as a life-size doll with a poseable skeleton, mechanisms for slight mouth movement and basic facial expressions, and built-in Bluetooth. Lovense described the concept as offering “human-like cognition, emotional awareness and expressive behavior”; those are company claims, not independently verified capabilities. Engadget’s CES report also described an intended charge life of up to eight hours, messaging through the Lovense app, and AI-generated selfies designed to resemble Emily.
CES coverage characterized the movement as limited, not humanoid locomotion. ITmedia’s February 2026 booth report said the prototype could move its head and lips and make simple expressions such as smiling, winking, and blinking, but could not walk. The reported battery figure was up to eight hours per charge.

Lovense said Emily was designed to remember earlier conversations and adapt over time. The app was described as a way to message with the doll, while generated selfies were intended to reflect her appearance. These were descriptions of a prototype’s planned or claimed features, not the results of independent performance testing.

There was an important demonstration limitation: ITmedia reported that the AI model had not been finalized and unstable venue Wi-Fi prevented the reporter from holding a direct conversation with Emily. Staff remotely operated the greeting heard at the booth. The reported line began, “Hi, welcome to Lovense. My name is Emily,” but it should not be taken as proof of autonomous conversation.
Coordinate with a Lovense toy
ITmedia reported a Bluetooth demonstration pairing Emily with Lovense’s Solos Pro male masturbator. In the example, a user could ask Emily to make the toy’s piston move faster. The outlet described this as control mediated through Emily, rather than evidence that the doll independently acted on the toy. The demonstration does not indicate that a toy is included with the doll.

What changed after CES
On September 20, 2026, Lovense said it had shown a second prototype of its “Intimate Doll” at IFA Berlin. The company described natural voice interaction, responsive physical movement, adaptation to individual preferences, and coordination with other products in its ecosystem. Lovense’s IFA announcement confirms continued prototyping and another public exhibit; it does not establish that the product is shipping or that its specifications are final.
Is the Lovense AI doll available, and when will Emily ship?
Current retail availability is not established by the available announcements. ITmedia reported CES-era plans for a US$4,000–8,000 price range depending on customization, a US$200 reservation amount, and planned shipment in 2027. Those figures were reported in February 2026 as plans, not a confirmed current offer. Lovense’s September IFA update did not reconfirm the price, reservation, or schedule, so none should be treated as current buying terms.

What is still uncertain
Emily remains best understood as an evolving prototype, rather than a launched consumer product with settled specifications. The reviewed announcements do not establish a final AI model, finalized technical specifications, confirmed current stock, or current purchase terms. Lovense has positioned the concept around companionship, but the cited coverage does not provide independent evidence that it reduces loneliness or improves social confidence.
Lovense employee Nikki Liu also called Emily a prototype after the CES showing, describing its communication as “highly intelligent.” That is an employee’s characterization, not an independent evaluation. Liu’s CES post supports the prototype status, not a retail launch.
