You can create adult-themed AI art with a local text-to-image diffusion workflow, but only within the model’s license, applicable law, and firm consent and age boundaries. In a workflow such as ComfyUI, a model encodes text guidance, denoises a latent image, and decodes the result into pixels. Running generation locally does not make an image lawful or override a model license or service policy.
Start with the legal, consent, and policy boundaries
Keep any adult-art workflow limited to fictional adult characters or real adults who have given explicit, specific permission for the intended image and its use. Do not use someone’s photo or likeness to make sexual imagery without that permission, and never generate or share sexualized depictions of minors. Do not try to bypass safety filters.
Policies differ by provider and can change. Stability AI’s Acceptable Use Policy, effective September 30, 2026, prohibits sexually explicit content, including non-consensual intimate imagery and sexual acts; its developer service terms separately prohibit pornographic or explicit sexual content for that service. Google’s Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy prohibits sexual content created for pornography or sexual gratification, as well as circumventing safety filters. These are examples of specific services’ rules, not universal rules for every model or jurisdiction.
The EU consolidated AI Act text dated July 27, 2026 identifies generating or manipulating realistic intimate imagery of an identifiable natural person without that person’s freely given, specific, informed, unambiguous, and explicit consent as prohibited. The text also references material defined as child sexual abuse material under EU law. This is an EU-specific legal reference, not a global legal conclusion. Check current law where you live and the terms and license for the particular model or service you plan to use.

How a local diffusion workflow makes an image
ComfyUI’s text-to-image guidance describes generation as a sequence: load a compatible model, encode text conditioning, sample and denoise latent noise, decode the latent into pixels with a VAE, then save the image. A checkpoint commonly bundles the diffusion model, text encoder (CLIP), and variational autoencoder (VAE), though compatibility and license terms must be checked for each model.
- Choose a compatible model. Read its license and confirm that the model and its components are compatible with the workflow. A local download does not change the license terms.
- Load the checkpoint. The workflow needs the model components used for text encoding, sampling, and VAE decoding.
- Enter text conditioning. Positive conditioning describes the fictional adult subject and intended visual qualities; negative conditioning can indicate unwanted features. These are generation controls, not a way to defeat provider safeguards.
- Set image dimensions and a seed. The latent image starts as noise. A fixed seed can help reproduce a result within the same compatible workflow; a different seed changes the starting noise.
- Sample and denoise. The sampler applies the text conditioning to the latent over a configured number of steps, following a selected sampler and scheduler.
- Decode, inspect, and save. The VAE turns the final latent into a visible image. Review the output before keeping or sharing it.
For a non-explicit example, the conditioning might describe “a fictional adult character in an elegant studio portrait, soft cinematic lighting.” Keep examples and inputs within the consent and age boundaries above.

What the main generation controls do

There is no substantiated universal sampler recipe, performance benchmark, or hardware minimum for this workflow. Processing needs depend on the model, image dimensions, and configuration; verify current compatibility for the model and hardware you choose rather than relying on a blanket requirement.

Before you generate or share an image
- Confirm that every depicted person is fictional and adult, or that any real adult has given explicit, specific permission for the intended generation and use.
- Read the current model license and, if using a hosted service, its current policy and terms.
- Use a compatible workflow, and treat seed, steps, guidance, sampler, and scheduler as model-dependent controls rather than universal quality settings.
- Inspect the output and the file’s embedded workflow information before sharing it.
- Check the law that applies where you live; provider policies and legal rules are not interchangeable.
