What the $12.97 listing says
The surfaced Gadget Hacks Shop listing describes a one-time purchase, with a redemption code and instructions sent by email after checkout. It says an unredeemed license can be returned for store credit within 30 days, while redeemed licenses are final sale. These details come from a search result crawled about three months before this article; the offer page returned an error when opened, so the current offer and checkout terms could not be independently confirmed. That evidence does not establish whether the code is a retail license, whether it can be transferred to another PC, or whether activation will continue indefinitely. “Lifetime” wording or customer reviews would not verify those rights or the code’s source. Check the live listing and terms before paying.
Does a low price mean the key is fake?
No. A low price alone does not prove fraud, but it also does not prove that a key is legitimate, properly sourced, or transferable. Microsoft warns that separately sold product keys advertised on auction sites, classified ads, or other online pages may be stolen or counterfeit. A key that is stolen or counterfeit may fail, may already be in use on another PC, or may later be blocked. Likewise, successful activation is not proof that a key has retail provenance or transfer rights. Activation confirms that Windows accepted the key at that time; it does not settle the license terms that apply to your purchase.
Compare the offer with a direct purchase
A direct Microsoft purchase is a more verifiable route to investigate, but confirm its live price, delivery method, and license terms before buying. What to do if the key will not activate
Microsoft Q&A activation guidance identifies several possible causes: a blocked or invalid key, a mismatch between the installed Windows edition and the key, or a volume-license key that has exceeded its permitted use. - Open Settings > System > Activation and note the exact error code.
- Check that the key corresponds to the Windows edition installed on your PC. A Pro key will not resolve an edition mismatch.
- If you bought the key from a reseller and it fails, contact that seller with the error code and purchase details. If the seller cannot resolve the problem, use the stated return terms where applicable.
Why volume-license terms do not answer this offer’s terms
Microsoft Product Terms list Windows 11 Pro as a per-device product in the MPSA program. In that volume-licensing context, the terms say a per-device license assignment is permanent unless the customer has Software Assurance, and specify qualifying operating-system requirements for volume-license use.
