For a date-specific answer, identify the country: December 12, 2025 was South Korea’s announced date; January 30, 2026 was the U.S. availability date. The dates were not a simultaneous global launch.
U.S. launch price and where it was sold
Samsung announced a U.S. launch price of $2,899 for the Crafted Black model with 512GB of storage. The company said it would be available at Samsung Experience Stores and Samsung.com beginning January 30, 2026. That figure is the announced launch price, not a confirmation of current pricing, inventory or availability.
What the release announcement describes
The TriFold is a smartphone that folds inward on both sides and opens to a 10-inch main display; its cover display measures 6.5 inches. Samsung positioned the design as combining a phone-sized folded device with a larger screen for tablet-style use. Samsung’s 2026 first-quarter interim report lists the device at 309 g, with a Snapdragon 8 Elite platform, a 5,600 mAh battery and 45 W charging. Software and announced services
Samsung’s announcement highlighted support for Samsung DeX and multitasking with up to three apps. It also announced a one-time 50% display-repair discount for each purchaser. Because eligibility and terms can change, check Samsung’s current local offer terms before relying on that benefit.
Samsung’s durability claim
Samsung said the main display underwent a 200,000-cycle multi-folding test, which the company equated to about 100 folds a day for five years. This is Samsung’s description of its own test, not independent evidence of real-world durability. Samsung Newsroom U.S., January 27, 2026.
