To pair a Bluetooth speaker, put the speaker into its model-specific pairing mode, open Bluetooth settings on your phone or computer, and select the speaker when it appears. If it connects but stays silent, check the playback output separately. Connecting one source to multiple speakers requires compatible speaker features; ordinary pairing alone does not provide it.
Pair a speaker with an iPhone

Turn on the speaker and activate its pairing or discovery mode. The button or button-hold varies by model; use the speaker’s manual to confirm the indicator or action.

On your iPhone, open Settings > Bluetooth and turn on Bluetooth.

Tap the speaker’s name when it appears in the device list. Enter a PIN or passcode if prompted.

Pair a speaker with an Android phone

Put the speaker into pairing mode using its documented controls.

Open the phone’s Bluetooth settings and choose Pair new device or the available-devices option. Menu wording varies by Android version and manufacturer.

Tap the speaker’s name and follow any on-screen prompts.

For the current device-specific steps, see Google’s Android pairing guide. A previously paired speaker may reconnect when selected from saved devices. Forgetting it removes its stored pairing, so you will need to pair it again.
Pair a speaker with a Windows computer

Make the speaker discoverable using its pairing control.

Open Windows Bluetooth settings, add a Bluetooth device, and select the speaker from the discovered-device list. Windows labels and paths may vary by version.

Follow any prompts, then select the speaker as the audio output if Windows does not switch to it automatically.

If Windows connects but audio plays through the wrong device or only one channel, use Microsoft’s Bluetooth audio troubleshooting guidance.
Fix common pairing and playback problems
The speaker does not appear

Confirm it is powered on and in pairing mode—not merely on or connected to a previously saved device.

Move the speaker closer to the phone or computer and refresh the available-device list.

Check whether the speaker is already connected to another source. Disconnect it there if needed, then try discovery again.

Consult the speaker’s manual for its exact pairing sequence; controls and indicator patterns are model-specific.
The speaker pairs, but there is no sound

Select the speaker as the phone or computer’s audio output. A successful Bluetooth pairing does not always mean playback is routed to that speaker.

Check the source’s volume and audio-output settings.

Confirm audio compatibility. Sony notes that a source may not play audio if it lacks the A2DP profile or supports A2DP only as a receiver. See Sony’s Bluetooth compatibility troubleshooting.

If the issue persists, remove the saved pairing on the source and speaker if applicable, then pair again. On Windows, Microsoft also recommends checking charge, audio balance and format, mono-audio settings, and firmware.
Choose the right way to connect multiple devices or speakers
These features solve different problems. Check the specifications and instructions for both the speaker and source; feature names and activation steps vary by model.

Multipoint is not multi-speaker playback
Multipoint concerns connections between a speaker and multiple sources. For example, Sony’s ULT FIELD 5 instructions describe multipoint with two Bluetooth devices. The same model’s instructions say Stereo Pair and Party Connect cannot be used at the same time as multipoint; that restriction is specific to this model and should not be assumed for other speakers. Auracast is a broadcast, not standard pairing
The Bluetooth SIG explains: “Connecting to an Auracast™ broadcast audio stream is not the same as a standard pairing between two Bluetooth® devices.” Auracast support requires applicable Bluetooth Core Specification 5.2 features and the Public Broadcast Profile; a version number alone does not establish that a particular product supports it.
