On a Samsung Galaxy running One UI 7, enlarge app icons from the Home screen’s App and widget style controls: open the app-size slider and move it toward the larger end. The setting changes icon size; changing the Home screen grid instead changes layout and density.
Change app icon size in One UI 7
- From the Home screen, open the Home screen customization controls.
- Tap App and widget style.
- Find the app-size slider and drag it toward the larger setting. Samsung’s One UI 7 guide shows small, medium, and large icon appearances; the slider can be moved left or right. Samsung’s One UI 7 Home screen guide
Menu labels and the slider’s availability can vary by software version, model, and region. Samsung’s guide specifically covers One UI 7. Samsung’s One UI 7 upgrade information
If the app-size slider is missing
First check your device’s software version and model. Samsung cautions that features and update availability vary by software version, device model, and region, so the One UI 7 instructions may not match an older or differently configured Galaxy. One UI Home is preinstalled on Galaxy phones and tablets; no separate physical product is required to use the documented setting. Samsung US: One UI Home
Icon size versus Home screen grid
The app-size slider changes the size of app icons. A grid setting changes how Home screen content is arranged and how much fits on the screen, so it can affect the icons’ apparent size without being the same control.

In One UI 7, 4×5 and 5×5 are no longer among the default Home screen grid choices. Samsung’s upgrade guidance points to Good Lock’s Home Up module for users seeking the previous layout or additional grid options. Home Up is a separate customization route, not a guarantee of the same icon-size slider on every device. Samsung Caribbean: One UI 7 upgrade guidance
Why screen zoom may not solve it
Screen zoom is a broader display adjustment, not the Home screen app-icon control described in Samsung’s design guidance. If your goal is specifically larger launcher icons, use the app-size slider when your software provides it; use grid or layout options when you want to change the arrangement.
