If Star Wars Outlaws keeps crashing on your PC, start by checking Ubisoft’s system requirements and the game’s update status, then test reversible changes one at a time. These checks can help isolate a local setup problem, but they are not guaranteed fixes. If the crash persists, report when it happens and include system diagnostics so Ubisoft can investigate.
Try these checks in order
Before changing anything, note when the crash occurs and save any error message. Make one change at a time, then repeat the same action or play scenario. That makes it easier to see whether a change affected the problem.

1. Record the crash pattern
Write down whether the game closes at launch, while loading a save, after a particular action, or only after a period of play. Capture the exact error message if one appears. A repeatable trigger is useful information for troubleshooting and reporting, but does not by itself identify the cause.
2. Compare your PC with Ubisoft’s requirements
Ubisoft’s published PC requirements distinguish a minimum profile from a recommended one. The minimum profile targets 1080p at 30 FPS on Low with quality upscaling; the recommended profile targets 1080p at 60 FPS on High with quality upscaling. These are performance targets, not guarantees that a system meeting the minimum will be crash-free.

Check your CPU, graphics card and its VRAM, RAM, Windows version, and—if you use the listed Intel Arc minimum—whether ReBAR is on. If your PC falls below a listed baseline, that is a reason to investigate compatibility and performance before assuming the crash is a known game defect. 3. Check the install drive and available space
Ubisoft specifies a 65 GB SSD. Confirm the game is installed on an SSD and that the drive has enough free space for the installation and normal operation. If your PC lacks suitable SSD storage or capacity, an SSD may address that requirement; buying one is not a universal crash fix.

4. Install the game update offered by your launcher
Check the launcher you use for an available Star Wars Outlaws update and install it, then retry the same scenario. Patch notes can address specific problems, but do not assume an older fix applies to every crash. Ubisoft’s Title Update 1.5.1 post, dated February 6, 2025, says it added PC support for NVIDIA 50-series GPUs and fixed a crash on streaming platforms while travelling to Renpalli Station. That narrowly described fix does not establish that general PC crashes were fixed or that this is the current version. Read the Title Update 1.5.1 notes and check the launcher for newer updates.
5. Temporarily undo overclocks or tuning
If you have overclocked or otherwise tuned your CPU, GPU, or memory, return it to a known stable baseline for a test. This is a diagnostic isolation step, not a confirmed Outlaws-specific crash cause. If the crash pattern changes, note the setting and the test conditions before deciding what to do next.

6. Temporarily simplify overlays and background software
Close or disable overlays and nonessential background software for one test, then re-enable items individually. This is a general troubleshooting experiment; Ubisoft’s cited pages do not identify a particular overlay or background app as a confirmed cause of this game’s PC crashes.
7. Test a simpler graphics configuration
If the game stays open long enough to change settings, lower graphics settings or turn off optional rendering enhancements for a test. Change one setting or group at a time and retry the same scene. Ubisoft lists rendering and upscaling options, but the available patch and requirements information does not show that any particular feature causes crashes.

8. Report a crash that persists
Use Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws Bug Reporter to report a reproducible issue, or contact Ubisoft Help. Ubisoft asks bug reporters to describe where the issue occurs, expected behavior, steps to reproduce it, any workaround, and useful additional material such as images or video. For persistent PC problems, Ubisoft Help advises attaching DxDiag and MSInfo reports to your support case.
