What SpaceX moved to the launch pad
The vehicle was a Super Heavy booster, Starship’s first stage. The spacecraft that flies above it is the upper stage. The move took place at Starbase, SpaceX’s Texas site for Starship development, manufacturing, testing, and launch, as described on the company’s launches page.
What the rollout meant for the planned flight
Contemporaneous reports on September 21 said the booster had arrived at the pad in preparation for a planned orbital flight. Space.com reported that it would be paired with the Starship upper stage. Putting a booster on the pad is one step in flight preparation. It does not, on its own, show that the upper stage has been stacked, that testing is finished, or that a launch is about to happen. A later status update would be needed to establish those developments.
What remains unconfirmed
The available reports do not establish the booster’s serial number or confirm the date it ultimately flew. SpaceX’s page for Starship’s Thirteenth Flight Test provides program context but does not identify this September booster or confirm its later schedule.
