Amazon showed conversational features for routines, music, video, Ring cameras and shared documents, and announced a phased U.S. rollout with an event-day price of $19.99 per month or no additional charge for Prime members. Those price and rollout details describe what Amazon said in 2025, not necessarily current terms.
What was announced at Amazon’s February 2025 event?
Amazon held the event at Spring Studios in New York City on February 26, 2025. Its headline was Alexa+, which Amazon described as more conversational and personalized than the existing assistant, with systems intended to carry out tasks through connected services and devices. The event announcement and demonstrations are recorded in Amazon’s February 2025 event live updates.
Amazon Devices & Services Senior Vice President Panos Panay called Alexa+ “that trusted assistant that can help you conduct your life and your home.” CEO Andy Jassy said the company believed generative AI would reinvent virtually every customer experience. Those remarks set out Amazon’s ambitions; they are not independent assessments of how well the product performs.
What can Alexa+ do?
Amazon’s event demos focused on actions and follow-through rather than just answering questions. The examples below are capabilities Amazon presented, not independently measured performance findings.

- Create routines by voice: Describe a routine conversationally and have Alexa+ set it up.
- Find and move music: Ask for music using a vague description, or move playback between speakers.
- Search a Prime Video scene: Use a character or quote to jump to a relevant moment.
- Summarize Ring camera events: Amazon demonstrated summaries on compatible Echo Show devices.
- Recall shared information: Share items such as emails, manuals, recipes or study materials and ask Alexa+ to recall details, summarize them or add calendar events.
- Offer family and creative experiences: Amazon showed Kids+ features called “Stories with Alexa” and “Explore with Alexa,” and a Suno integration for generating songs.
Amazon also previewed an Alexa AI Multi-Agent SDK. It said Alexa+ used Amazon Bedrock to access models including Amazon Nova and Anthropic models, with a model-agnostic system selecting models for tasks. This is Amazon’s description of its architecture, not an independently audited technical account.
What did Amazon say about price and rollout?
On February 26, 2025, Amazon announced a U.S. price of $19.99 per month and said Alexa+ would be included at no additional charge for Prime members. It said the U.S. launch would begin in the following weeks and proceed in waves, initially starting with households that had Echo Show 8, Echo Show 10, Echo Show 15 or Echo Show 21 devices. These are the terms and timing Amazon announced at the event; they should not be treated as a current price, eligibility rule or availability guarantee.

Where can customers access Alexa+ now?
Amazon’s Alexa+ overview, updated July 21, 2026, describes access through the Alexa mobile app and Alexa.com, as well as on Fire TV and in the Amazon Music app. Amazon says a conversation can continue across endpoints such as an Echo, phone, car or computer. The overview cautions that feature availability varies by region. Check Amazon’s Alexa+ skills, cost and availability overview for the current details Amazon publishes; its endpoint list is not a complete device-by-device compatibility matrix.
Which services and integrations did Amazon name?
Amazon’s overview lists examples of third-party services Alexa+ can connect with. The named services do not establish that every action is available in every country, account or configuration.

Amazon also describes Alexa for Shopping on Echo devices, its website and its app. Its stated shopping features include answering product questions, researching products, creating personalized guides, comparing items, displaying up to a full year of price history, and automating some deal-finding and purchases. These are Amazon’s product claims, not independent findings about accuracy or results.
What did Amazon announce for developers?
In a February 26, 2025 developer announcement, Amazon described an Alexa AI Action SDK for real-time API actions and said its initial partner focus included dining and entertainment reservations, home services such as repair and maintenance, and local activities and events. It also announced Web Action and Multi-Agent SDK work, with examples including Thumbtack, Suno and a Math Tutor agent powered by Wolfram APIs. Which Echo devices were first in the rollout?
The event’s first-wave rollout announcement named households with Echo Show 8, Echo Show 10, Echo Show 15 and Echo Show 21. That is useful historical context if you are looking at Alexa+ hardware, but it does not establish that these are the only supported devices now or confirm present compatibility. Amazon later announced a broader device lineup on October 2, 2025, describing new Echo devices as engineered for future AI experiences; that was a separate announcement, not part of the February event. The event and subsequent overview document Amazon’s stated capabilities, named integrations, access points and historical rollout terms. They do not provide independent measurements of Alexa+ performance, a complete device compatibility matrix, or proof that a named service or partner supports every feature in every region. Amazon’s July 2026 overview also says there are more than 600 million Alexa devices; that is a company-published device figure, not an independently verified count of active users.
