When was Windows 11 24H2 released?
Microsoft announced that the Windows 11 2024 Update rollout began on October 1, 2024. In its October 1 announcement, Microsoft said it was beginning to release the update, also known as Windows 11 version 24H2.
“Began to release” describes the start of distribution, not a promise that every eligible consumer PC received the update that day. Microsoft also listed managed distribution routes, including Windows Server Update Services (including Configuration Manager), Windows Update for Business, and the Microsoft 365 admin center.
