1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsA portable power station may shut off because its battery is depleted, a particular output has an energy-saving timeout, a connected load exceeds that output’s limits, or temperature protection has activated. A persistent error or repeated shutdown can also indicate a fault. First determine whether the whole station or only one output stopped, then check the display and model-specific manual before changing settings or restarting it.
Start by identifying what shut off
Note whether the display and entire station went dark, or whether only AC, DC, USB, or USB-C output stopped. Record what was connected and whether shutdown happened immediately, when an appliance started, or after it had been idle. These clues help distinguish a depleted battery or protection event from an output-specific timeout.
- Check the battery percentage, warning icons, and any error code. Photograph the display if helpful.
- Consult the manual or official app for the exact model and code. A code or reset procedure on one model may not apply to another.
- Disconnect the appliance that coincided with the shutdown. Do not reset first if doing so could erase useful warning information.
Check the battery and connected load
Battery may be depleted
If the battery is empty or very low, the station may stop supplying power. Jackery advises checking the display and battery level when USB output stops; recharge only as the exact model’s instructions allow. If the battery reading appears adequate but output will not resume, look for an output-specific setting or warning before assuming the battery is the cause. Jackery’s USB shutdown guidance
Demand may exceed an output’s rating
An overload can switch off the affected output rather than the whole station. EcoFlow’s RIVER 3 Plus manual lists separate overload errors for AC, DC, and USB-C and directs users to remove devices from the affected output. Its DELTA 3 manual also describes overload protection and advises reducing total output demand. EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus manual · EcoFlow DELTA 3 manual

Compare the appliance’s running wattage and startup demand with the station’s rating and the appliance maker’s instructions. Some devices draw more power when starting than while running. A higher surge rating is not permission to exceed the continuous output rating. If there is no warning, visible damage, or other reason to stop, you can later test with a small, known-compatible load.
Check whether an energy-saving setting turned off one output
Low-power cutoff
Some stations intentionally stop an output when a connected device draws very little power. Jackery’s guidance describes USB low-load detection that can turn off output for loads below 2 W; it gives 12 hours as the default timing for the product guidance covered and says app-enabled models may allow adjustment. Bluetooth earphones and smart bands are examples of devices that may draw too little to keep USB output active. These figures describe Jackery guidance, not a universal power-station rule. AC idle timeout
An AC output may also turn off after a period without a detected load. The EcoFlow E980 manual says its AC output shuts off after 12 hours without load and notes that intermittent loads, such as refrigerators, may interact with timeout settings. For a need that depends on continuous AC availability, check the model’s app or manual for an AC timeout setting and monitor battery level. Do not assume another model has the same setting or timing. EcoFlow E980 manual
Look for eco mode, low-load cutoff, or AC idle timeout in the exact model’s manual or official app. Change a timeout only when the manufacturer documents the setting and it suits the use case. Do not rely on a power station as the sole supply for medical equipment or another critical load without an appropriate backup and guidance from the equipment maker.

Check temperature and airflow
Temperature protection can stop charging, output, or both. If the station shows a temperature warning, stop the load, keep vents unobstructed, and move the unit to a well-ventilated place away from heat or cold. Let it return gradually to the operating range specified for that model. Do not cover vents, heat or cool the unit abruptly, or keep using it through a protection warning.
Temperature limits vary by product. Jackery Support’s September 1, 2026 guidance for the LiFePO4 product families it names lists discharge from -10°C to 45°C and charging from 0°C to 45°C. It advises stopping operations, moving the unit within range, and allowing roughly 1–2 hours for the warning to clear. Those figures and recovery guidance should not be applied to other products; use your own model’s stated limits. Jackery’s temperature guidance

Use this troubleshooting sequence
- Record the symptom: identify the output that stopped, the timing, the appliance involved, and any display message or code.
- Check charge and warnings: use the display and the model’s manual to determine whether the battery is depleted or a protection warning is active.
- Isolate the load: disconnect the appliance that triggered the shutdown. Compare its running and startup demands with the station’s ratings.
- Inspect settings: check the model’s manual or official app for low-load cutoff, eco mode, or AC idle timeout. Adjust only documented settings.
- Restore suitable conditions: stop operation, clear blocked airflow, and let the unit return to its model-specific temperature range.
- Test cautiously: only if there is no warning, damage, or other reason to stop, try a small, known-compatible load and watch for a repeat shutdown.
When to stop troubleshooting and contact support
Stop using the station if an error persists after the model’s troubleshooting steps, or if it repeatedly shuts down despite adequate charge and a compatible, modest load. Also stop if it smells burnt, is unusually hot, swollen, wet, physically damaged, or has a visibly damaged cable or port. Follow the manufacturer’s support and warranty instructions. EcoFlow advises stopping use and not charging or discharging when an error persists after troubleshooting; its RIVER 3 Plus manual says to stop use immediately and consult customer service for unresolved errors. Jackery says USB shutdown despite sufficient battery and a load that is not low-power may indicate an internal fault. EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus manual · EcoFlow DELTA 3 manual · Jackery support guidance
Do not open the enclosure, bypass protection, or attempt to replace internal cells. If the manual does not resolve the warning, contact the manufacturer with the model number, error code, battery reading, and a description of when shutdown occurs.
