To judge one accurately, check the exact item, its displayed attributes and role, any campaign-specific conditions, and how it fits your current squad. EA’s FC 26 launch ratings database does not include Heroes, so a missing result there is not evidence that a Hero item does not exist.
What is a Hero item in FC Ultimate Team?
A Hero is a special player item in Ultimate Team. The label can refer to a base Hero or to a separate campaign version, so it is not enough information to identify the card or establish its rating. Campaign releases may have their own item designs, ratings, attributes, or conditions.
When comparing Heroes, start with the exact version shown in game. Then consider its displayed OVR, attributes, position and role fit, any PlayStyles shown, and the chemistry indicators in your squad. OVR is a summary rating, not a complete measure of how useful a specific item will be for your lineup.
Why a Hero may not appear in EA’s FC 26 ratings database
EA describes its FC 26 ratings database as covering launch Gold, Silver, and Bronze Player Items. It expressly excludes Heroes, Icons, Campaign Player Items, items added after release, and live form updates from other modes. A search that returns no Hero result therefore does not show that the item is unavailable or nonexistent. EA FC 26 ratings database

- Build your legacy in Manager Career with a rebuilt Transfer Market and Dynamic OVRs, then create your dream squad in Football Ultimate Team and showcase your achievements in the new FUT Gallery.
EA also says its ranking order sorts first by OVR, then uses subjective real-life performance factors rather than item attributes. That makes the ratings page unsuitable as a complete comparison tool for special items: compare the exact in-game card and its attributes instead. EA FC 26 ratings database
Do FC Heroes upgrade?
Some campaign Heroes can have upgrade conditions, but those conditions belong to a specific release. They are not a permanent rule for every Hero.

UEFA Primetime Heroes: a campaign-specific example
In its November 7, 2025 UEFA Primetime article, EA described a path for that campaign’s Heroes: a Hero could receive +1 OVR for two wins in the next four matches, and earn one Role++ plus two base PlayStyles for four goals in the next four league matches. Those objectives describe the named Primetime release, not all Hero items. Check the current in-game objective before assuming an upgrade is active or still available. EA’s UEFA Primetime campaign article
EA’s article also said new Base versions would enter the general player pack pool after that campaign, while Primetime versions would be removed. That was a statement about the content cycle for that release, not a standing rule for all future campaigns or pack pools. EA’s UEFA Primetime campaign article

Prime Heroes: a different campaign description
EA’s May 29, 2026 Prime Heroes article promoted 32 Prime Heroes and described exclusive key stats rated 99, alongside objectives, limited-time Hero loans, live events, Evolutions, and SBCs. The 99 figure applies to the article’s description of those exclusive key stats; it does not mean every Hero item has a 99 rating or that the campaign remains live. EA’s Prime Heroes campaign article
How to check whether a Hero fits your squad
- Identify the exact item. Check whether it is a base version, Prime version, or named campaign version, and note its displayed OVR.
- Inspect the card in game. Compare its attributes, position and role suitability, and any PlayStyles shown. Do not use OVR alone to decide between cards.
- Check current campaign details. If the item is tied to an objective or upgrade path, read the conditions and availability shown in the current game rather than applying rules from another release.
- Review chemistry in your squad. Use the current in-game chemistry display or current EA documentation. The official FC 26 Hero chemistry rule was not established in the sources cited here, so older FUT formulas should not be treated as confirmed.
- Confirm how you can obtain it. Campaigns and pack pools change. Check the live in-game content for current availability.
How Hero chemistry works in FC 26
Do not assume that an older FUT chemistry explanation establishes the FC 26 rules for Heroes. EA’s available 2015 explainer describes an older system based on positions and shared club, league, or nationality links; it is too old to confirm current Hero chemistry. For a specific squad, inspect the chemistry indicators shown in FC 26 or consult current EA documentation before relying on a particular link or formula. EA Ultimate Team information

What pack odds and availability mean for Heroes
EA says Ultimate Team displays minimum probabilities for receiving one or more items in the listed category and rating range. A pack listing Gold Player Items may occasionally contain active Hero, Icon, or Campaign Player Items. EA recalculates probabilities after content updates, so use the probability shown on the in-game pack screen at the time you are considering it. Sample percentages in EA’s explanatory article are illustrative examples, not current odds for a particular pack. EA’s pack-probability explanation
When a Hero matters for an SBC
A Hero is not universally required or especially valuable for Squad Building Challenges. EA says FC 26 SBCs may set conditions such as Squad Rating, Chemistry, Player Quality, League, Nation, or Club. Whether a particular Hero helps depends on the live challenge requirements and the item’s fit. Before obtaining more players, EA recommends checking the SBC requirements, reward, expiration, and your club/SBC storage inventory. EA Help: Squad Building Challenges
