The official FAQ’s prices are US recommended retail prices, not a promise of the current price in every store or region. The separate US PlayStation Store page showed Digital Deluxe at $84.99 and Ultimate at $84.99 during the stated promotion. If that offer is still available in your region, Ultimate adds its cosmetics for no more than the displayed Digital Deluxe price; confirm the checkout price and offer end time before purchasing. What the Year 1 pass adds
The Year 1 Character and Stage Pass is a bundle of planned content, not a statement that every item is already available. It includes four additional playable characters, one additional stage, and a set of result-screen poses for the 20-character base roster. Confirmed character information
Phoenix Cyclops was announced as the first additional Year 1 character. The sources cited here do not establish the release status of the remaining pass content, so the pass should be judged by its stated scope rather than an assumed release schedule. What Ultimate’s cosmetics are
Ultimate’s five costumes are Captain America (Classic), Iron Man (Classic), Storm (Punk Rock), Doctor Doom (Supreme Ruler), and Spider-Man (Advanced Suit 2.0). PlayStation says the Spider-Man costume draws on the Advanced Suit 2.0 from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The edition also unlocks an animated Chromatic color for each of the 20 launch characters. Should you buy Standard and the pass separately?
Using the FAQ’s US RRP and the separately listed US pass price, Standard plus the pass totals $94.98 before any promotions or taxes. Digital Deluxe is listed at $84.99 RRP and includes the pass, Howard the Duck avatar, and Cosmo pet. On those stated prices, Digital Deluxe costs $9.99 less than buying Standard and the pass separately, while also including the two lobby items. This comparison uses the FAQ’s US RRP and the pass’s US storefront snapshot; it is not a guarantee of current prices elsewhere.

If you only want the base game, Standard avoids paying upfront for add-on content. If you want the Year 1 content, compare Digital Deluxe with Standard plus the pass at the prices actually shown to you. If you value Ultimate’s costumes and colors, compare its current price with Digital Deluxe; the temporary US offer described above could change that calculation.
Physical copies and edition upgrades
The official FAQ confirms a physical PS5 Standard Edition. It also says owners of that physical copy can buy a Digital Deluxe or Ultimate upgrade through PlayStation Store and download the bonus content. Standard and Digital Deluxe owners can upgrade to Ultimate as well. These routes provide flexibility, but add-on availability and upgrade prices can vary. Platforms and online requirements
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is available on PS5 and PC. PlayStation announced an August 6, 2026 launch, with the PS5 and PC versions launching August 7 in New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and Korea. For PS5 online gameplay and other online features, the official FAQ requires a PlayStation Plus account and internet connection; that FAQ answer does not state the same requirement for offline play.
