An AI game generator may appear to ignore your prompt when the request leaves important choices open, refers to an unclear object, or combines several changes. The practical fix is to identify one specific mismatch, add the missing context or observable instruction, and try again. A clearer prompt can guide the tool, but it cannot guarantee a particular result: Roblox notes that many AI tools can vary between attempts.
Why does my AI game generator keep ignoring parts of my prompt?
A prompt is an instruction interpreted within a particular tool’s capabilities and context—not a guarantee that the tool will reconstruct the idea in your head. If you ask for “a fun pirate game,” you have not specified the game loop, controls, setting, or win condition. The generator has to fill in those gaps, and its choices may not match yours. This is a practical explanation consistent with guidance from Roblox and OpenAI to provide clear tasks, useful context, and specific details; it is not a measured claim about how often generators misread prompts.
Other common sources of mismatch are unclear references (“make it move”), missing timing (“make it night” could mean set the scene to night or change the lighting during play), and bundling unrelated requests together. The tool’s input model matters, too: an assistant editing a project may need the exact object and intended behavior, while a world generator may need descriptions of the environment, character, and movement.
How to fix a prompt the generator misunderstood
- Identify one observable mismatch. Compare the output with the request and name what is wrong: the wrong object, a missing action, incorrect timing, an omitted constraint, or an unwanted visual detail.
- Give the tool the reference and context it needs. If it edits a project, use the exact object or instance name and select the relevant object when the tool supports selection. Add only the project context needed to identify the target. Roblox’s Assistant guidance recommends exact names and selection where available.
- Replace vague qualities with checkable instructions. Instead of “make it better” or “make it exciting,” specify an action, quantity, location, condition, or visual property. For instance, say which object to change, how many items to add, where they should appear, or what should happen after a particular event.
- State when the change should happen. For a project-editing tool, clarify whether you want a one-time change in the editor or behavior during gameplay. If it should happen during play, say what event triggers it. Roblox notes that its Assistant may otherwise favor edit-time action; this is product-specific advice, not a rule for every generator.
- Separate unrelated tasks. Ask for one main change, inspect it, and then make the next request. OpenAI recommends breaking complex tasks into smaller, focused prompts.
- Test and refine. Keep the parts that worked and state what remains wrong. Changing one instruction at a time makes it easier to see which revision addressed the mismatch.
These steps follow iterative-refinement guidance from Roblox and OpenAI. Roblox Creator Hub documentation cautions: “Many AI tools are non-deterministic, meaning they don’t create the exact same output each time you ask them to do something.” Repeating the same prompt therefore does not guarantee the same output—or a better one.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Example: make a movement request specific
Vague: “Make my character run like an adventure game.”
More precise for a project assistant: “In Roblox Studio, add a script so the character continuously moves forward during gameplay. Keep the camera centered behind the character. Stop the forward movement when the character is defeated. Do not change the character’s speed in the editor.”

This example makes the target, action, timing, camera behavior, stop condition, and editor-time constraint explicit. It illustrates Roblox’s published distinction between edit-time and run-time instructions; it is not a tested prompt or a promise that the exact result is assured.
How to prompt a text-to-world generator
A generator that creates a world rather than editing an existing project may respond better when the scene’s main ingredients are described separately. Google DeepMind’s Genie prompt guide recommends concrete descriptions, simple direct sentences, and checking a preview when one is available.

Across different tools, the most transferable principles are to state a clear task, include enough relevant context, break complex work into focused requests, and refine the prompt after reviewing the result. OpenAI’s general guidance supports those practices, but it does not establish that every game generator has the same features or limitations. The reviewed guidance also does not establish a success rate, error rate, or guaranteed number of revisions for AI game generators.
