Choose the Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 if USB-C charging, a longer stated battery life, or its newer audio and call features matter to you. Choose the original OpenRun Pro if it costs meaningfully less where you live and you are comfortable with magnetic charging and its earlier feature set. Both are rated IP55, and Shokz’s specifications alone do not establish that either sounds better in independent testing.
What’s different between OpenRun Pro and OpenRun Pro 2?
Shokz’s specifications show that the Pro 2’s clearest practical advantages are USB-C charging, longer stated battery life and a newer driver design. The original Pro shares the same IP55 rating. The figures below are manufacturer claims, not results from independent comparative testing.

Should you upgrade from OpenRun Pro to OpenRun Pro 2?
An upgrade is most compelling if you want to replace the magnetic charger with USB-C or expect the Pro 2’s longer stated battery life and quick-charge allowance to make a practical difference. Shokz also lists four preset EQ modes and two customizable profiles for Pro 2 in its Canada comparison guide; check feature availability in your region if EQ options are important to you.
