To get started in Riders Republic, complete the introduction, then choose a career event from the world map or use the sports wheel to freeride. If you need a controls refresher, open Progress > Learnings. Your first clear progression goal is to finish an event; doing so unlocks the next event in that career.
What to do first
- Complete the introduction. Ubisoft’s Season 7 update says the introduction was shortened and careers are available after it.
- Choose how to play. Select a career icon on the world map to start an event, or use the sports wheel to freeride with the available sports.
- Review the event’s objectives before starting. Side objectives can earn extra stars in addition to the star for completing the event. Check the event screen for the objectives and current reward details.
- Finish the event. Reach the finish line to complete it and unlock the next event in that career, according to Ubisoft’s Season 7 notes.
How to review tutorials and change controls
Replay the tutorials
Open the game menu, select Progress, then choose Learnings. Ubisoft Help also says Learnings can be opened from some in-game menu sections with the Help prompt. Use it when you need a refresher on a sport or move.

Adjust your bindings
Go to Options > Controller to view or customize controls. Ubisoft documents keyboard-and-mouse rebinding and controller mapping in this area. The named controller presets are Racer, Steep, and Trickster; choose one to try, then check the displayed bindings and adjust them to your preference. The official guidance does not identify a universally best preset.
There is no reliable, single button-by-button chart here for every platform and sport. Inputs can vary with platform, control scheme, and the activity, so use the in-game Learnings and Controller Mapping screens rather than relying on a guessed button list.

Which sport or career should you try?
Pick an activity by the kind of event you want, rather than treating one sport as the required starting point. Ubisoft’s career overview names six tracks. Its current game overview also describes snowboarding, so the older career list should not be read as a complete list of everything playable today.
| Career track named in Ubisoft’s overview | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Bike Freestyle | Trick-focused events |
| Bike Racing | Course racing |
| Ski Freestyle | Trick-focused events |
| Ski Racing | Course racing |
| Wingsuit | Aerial events |
| Rocket Wingsuit | Aerial events using rocket-wing equipment |
These descriptions reflect the distinctions in Ubisoft’s named career tracks; individual events can have their own rules and objectives. The game’s overview also describes biking, skiing, snowboarding, wingsuit, and rocket-wing activities.

How gear fits into early events
Gear is equipment within the game, not real-world equipment you need to buy. Ubisoft’s career overview says gear statistics suit different scenarios—for example, a trick-oriented bike or a faster snowboard for racing. As you choose events, compare the event type with the available gear statistics and use equipment that fits the activity.
