To send a stablecoin across borders, first confirm the exact token and network the recipient can accept. A TRON TRC-20 transfer and a Polygon PoS transfer are separate routes; the same ticker or a compatible-looking address does not make them interchangeable. If your funds are on TRON but the recipient needs Polygon, use only a provider that explicitly supports that asset on both networks and the route between them.
Confirm the stablecoin and receiving network
Ask the recipient which stablecoin they accept and which network their deposit instructions specify. Check the receiving wallet or exchange’s deposit screen immediately before sending. Treat the token and network as a pair: USDT on one network, for example, is not automatically the same deposit as USDT on another.
Support can also depend on the service, not just the blockchain. Circle lists USDC on Polygon PoS, but Circle Mint and API services accept only specified assets on specified chains. Circle warns that sending unsupported assets, including bridged USDC, to a Circle Mint address may result in loss. Follow the current instructions of the particular recipient service, rather than assuming that support for a token on a chain applies everywhere. See Circle’s USDC on Polygon documentation.
Choose the route that matches the recipient
| Route | What to verify | Fee asset or model |
|---|---|---|
| TRON, TRC-20 | The recipient accepts the exact token as a TRC-20 deposit on TRON. | Bandwidth and Energy resources; TRX may be burned if resources do not cover the transaction. |
| Polygon PoS | The recipient supports the exact token on Polygon PoS, not another Polygon network or another chain. | The cited Polygon Mainnet setup uses POL for gas; wallet configuration and current network details should be checked. |
| TRON to Polygon PoS | A provider or bridge must explicitly support the asset, both networks, your jurisdiction, and the transfer direction. | Provider-specific fees and limits; not established as one universal route or fee. |
Do not paste a Polygon deposit address into a TRON transfer, or the reverse, unless a supported service specifically instructs you to do so. The official documentation cited here establishes TRON transfer mechanics and Polygon PoS USDC support, but does not establish a direct user route between TRON and Polygon.

Send a TRC-20 token on TRON
Check the destination and wallet resources
- In the recipient’s deposit instructions, confirm the exact stablecoin and that the network is TRON/TRC-20. Copy the address from those instructions and verify it in your wallet’s send screen.
- Check that your sending wallet can cover the transfer’s required Bandwidth and Energy. TRON measures transaction bytes as Bandwidth and smart-contract computation as Energy. Both resources may be available through staking or delegation; if your available resources are short, TRX can be burned to cover the shortfall. See TRON’s resource model documentation.
- Review the wallet’s current fee or resource estimate before signing. TRON’s quotas and burn rates are controlled by changeable network parameters, so there is no fixed universal TRC-20 transfer fee established by the cited documentation.
- Confirm the token, network, destination and amount in the wallet, then sign using its normal signing flow. Never give a provider or support representative your seed phrase or private key.
- After sending, check the transaction and confirm that the recipient sees the deposit on TRON before sending any remaining amount.
TRON’s java-tron command example estimates 345 Bandwidth and 29,650 Energy for its particular example transfer. Those are example resource estimates—not a guaranteed requirement for your transfer and not a universal TRX fee. See TRON’s resource-estimation example.
Send a token on Polygon PoS
- Confirm that the recipient accepts the exact token on Polygon PoS. A token ticker alone does not confirm the network or the service’s deposit support.
- In your wallet, select the Polygon PoS network and check that the destination address matches the recipient’s instructions.
- Make sure the wallet has POL for gas. Polygon’s Mainnet setup guide identifies POL as the currency symbol and says the wallet needs POL to pay Mainnet gas. See Polygon’s Mainnet setup guide.
- Review the wallet’s current gas estimate and the transaction details before signing. The guide identifies the gas token; it does not quote a fee, and the actual cost depends on transaction details and current network conditions.
- After the transaction, confirm receipt on Polygon PoS using the recipient’s service or wallet.
If the sender has TRON funds and the recipient needs Polygon
Pause before sending. A standard transfer on TRON does not itself move a token to Polygon. Choose an exchange, transfer service or bridge only after checking that it supports the precise stablecoin on both the source and destination networks, your country, the transfer direction, and the relevant limits and fees. Also check custody, settlement, and recovery terms; availability and rules vary by provider. The sources cited here do not verify a specific provider or country-specific route.

Do not treat USDT and USDC as interchangeable, or assume a transfer alone converts one into the other. If using an intermediary, follow its own instructions for deposits and withdrawals, including any required network or token conversion. Send a small test amount first when appropriate for the service and transaction, and verify its arrival on the intended network before transferring more.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Choosing by ticker alone: Verify both token and network in the recipient’s deposit instructions.
- Assuming matching addresses mean matching networks: Address format does not prove that a service can receive a deposit sent on a different chain.
- Ignoring the gas or resource requirement: TRON transfers use Bandwidth and Energy, with TRX potentially covering a shortfall; the cited Polygon Mainnet setup uses POL for gas.
- Sending unsupported assets to a service deposit address: Check that service’s current supported asset/network list. Circle’s warning about unsupported deposits applies to its own Mint/API services, not as a blanket rule for every provider.
- Sharing wallet secrets: Sign through your wallet; do not disclose a seed phrase or private key to a transfer service or support representative.
