In TickTick, set a reminder from a task’s calendar control when creating it, or edit an existing task through Date & Reminder. To make it recur, open the task’s date controls and choose a weekly, monthly, yearly, or custom repeat rule. Exact repeat-editor labels can vary, so check the current app interface for the available options.

Create or open the new task and use the calendar icon below its title.

Choose Set Reminder, then select the reminder time. TickTick’s reminder guide says you can choose a custom time and add multiple reminders to one task.
For an existing task

Open the task’s details.

Choose Date & Reminder, then Reminder, and set the time or times you want.

To change the default reminder applied to new tasks, go to Settings > General > Task Default > Default Reminder. In TickTick for web, email alerts can be enabled at Avatar > Settings > Reminders & Notifications. Menu wording may differ by platform or app version. See TickTick’s Effective Reminder Feature guide.
Set up a recurring task
Open the task details and set its date in Date & Reminder. TickTick supports weekly, monthly, yearly, and custom repeat rules. Custom patterns can cover schedules such as the last day of each month or a particular annual date. The precise steps and labels in the repeat editor are not established in TickTick’s linked Task Details guide, so follow the repeat options shown in your current app rather than relying on a fixed screen-by-screen path.

Desktop: Right-click the recurring task and select the skip action.
TickTick’s FAQ says you cannot modify a future recurrence until the current occurrence is completed. If a future instance will not let you edit it, complete the current one first, then update the schedule.

Choose how reminders behave
When a reminder appears, TickTick may offer Dismiss, Start Focus, Done, or Snooze. If you need a reminder to keep sounding until you complete the task, enable Constant Reminder. TickTick documents a global setting under Settings > Sounds & Notifications, and a per-task option under Date & Repeat > Reminder > Constant Reminder. The available controls can vary by version.

Review TickTick’s notification settings. Open Settings > Sounds & Notifications and check the relevant reminder options.

On Android, check background operation. Some devices require Alert Mode under Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Advanced Settings. Also confirm that background startup is allowed and that device security settings or third-party security tools are not stopping TickTick from running.

Ask TickTick for help if needed. If the settings above do not resolve delivery, use the app’s in-app Feedback option.
What to know about location reminders
TickTick’s help center documents location reminders configured from task details and provides instructions for iOS and Android, while its Features page labels the feature “iOS only.” Because those official pages conflict, availability is not consistent across TickTick’s documentation; check your current app to see whether the option is offered on your platform.
