Connect the DeathAdder V3 Pro with its included 2.4 GHz wireless receiver or USB-C cable. It works for basic pointing and clicking without Razer Synapse; install Synapse to remap buttons, create macros, and manage profile settings. In Synapse, select the mouse and open Mouse > Customize to change button assignments.
Choose a connection and turn on the mouse
The DeathAdder V3 Pro supports two ways to connect:
| Connection | What to do | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Included 2.4 GHz wireless receiver | Plug the receiver into your computer, then turn on the mouse. | Use this for wireless operation. |
| USB-C cable | Connect the mouse to your computer with the cable. | Use this when you prefer a wired connection. |
The bottom control is a combined Power/DPI cycle button. According to Razer’s product FAQ, hold it for three seconds to toggle power; press and release it to cycle through DPI stages. The factory stages are 400, 800, 1600 (default), 3200, and 6400 DPI. The bottom control is separate from the five independently programmable buttons listed by Razer.
Install Synapse for button customization
Basic mouse functions do not require Synapse. Install and open Razer Synapse if you want to change button assignments, configure macros, or manage profile settings. Software labels and available options may vary by Synapse version.

Razer’s user guide identifies the Customize subtab as the place to modify button assignments. The exact options shown depend on the software version and configuration.
Understand which buttons you can remap
Razer lists five independently programmable buttons. Use the Synapse mouse diagram to identify and configure the buttons it exposes for assignment. The bottom Power/DPI cycle button has a separate function: it turns the mouse on or off and cycles DPI, rather than serving as one of the side remapping buttons.

Optional: add a Hypershift layer
Hypershift provides a secondary set of assignments while you hold a designated Hypershift key. Razer’s guide describes the default as the Fn key on a supported Razer keyboard, and says a mouse button can also be assigned as the Hypershift key. It is an optional way to add alternate functions, not a requirement for ordinary remapping.
Choose and manage a profile
Razer describes the mouse as having one onboard profile based on the last-used Synapse profile, including custom DPI and button settings. Do not assume the mouse stores multiple complete profiles onboard. If you change profiles in Synapse, check which one is active before relying on its assignments.

No. The included receiver is sufficient for ordinary wireless setup and button customization. Razer says the separately sold HyperPolling Wireless Dongle supports wireless polling rates up to 8000 Hz; it is an optional accessory, not a requirement for remapping.
Razer lists battery life of up to 90 hours at 1000 Hz and up to 17 hours at 8000 Hz. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results, and the figures are tied to their stated polling rates.
