If your Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro won’t connect, first check that you’re using the right dongle for its exact variant; if it won’t charge, connect its USB-C cable directly to a PC port and check the connection. The Smooth Touch model (RZ01-046303) does not pair with the HyperSpeed dongle. Follow the steps below in order, then contact Razer Support if the mouse still fails.
Before troubleshooting: identify your DeathAdder V3 Pro variant
Check the model number on the mouse or its packaging before pairing or installing firmware. Razer lists the Smooth Touch version as RZ01-046303 and the non-Smooth-Touch versions as RZ01-046301/2. The Smooth Touch model does not work with the HyperSpeed dongle; Razer says to use only the HyperPolling dongle supplied with that mouse. See Razer’s model FAQ.
The DeathAdder V3 Pro supports 2.4 GHz wireless through a compatible dongle and wired use through USB-C. It does not support wireless charging. A USB-C cable can charge the mouse or connect it for wired use.
Fix wireless connection or pairing problems
- Charge the mouse and check wireless mode. Make sure it has power and that wireless mode is on and correctly selected.
- Connect the dongle directly to the PC. Start without a USB hub, and position the dongle so there is a clear line of sight between it and the mouse.
- Confirm dongle compatibility. For RZ01-046303 Smooth Touch, use the included HyperPolling dongle, not a HyperSpeed dongle. Check the model number before proceeding.
- Update firmware only if your model is covered. Razer’s updater page lists version 2.02.00_r2, dated May 30, 2025, for non-Smooth-Touch RZ01-046301/2. Its release note says it fixes wireless reconnection issues “under specific conditions.” Razer’s sequence is to update the dongle first, then connect the mouse with the supplied USB cable and update it. Do not interrupt the process. Confirm the model and current download on Razer’s support page before running the updater; it is not listed for every variant.
- Run the Razer Mouse Pairing Utility. If the mouse still will not pair, use Razer’s DeathAdder V3 Pro support resources to locate the utility for your device.
- Reinstall the mouse drivers and test on another PC. If the connection works on another computer, the issue may be specific to the original PC or its USB setup.
Fix charging problems or a red blinking light
- Reseat the USB-C cable. Push the connector fully into the mouse and verify the other end is firmly connected. This model charges through USB-C, not wirelessly.
- Try a direct PC USB port. Avoid a hub while testing. In a Razer Support response about a red-blinking case, the representative recommended a motherboard port rather than a hub, monitor, or front-panel port.
- Check the port and cable. Look for debris in the mouse’s USB-C port and try another cable if you have one. A replacement cable is worth considering only after checking the included cable and connection; the cited support guidance does not establish specifications or compatibility guarantees for third-party cables.
- Try the reboot suggested by Razer Support for the reported red-blinking case. Hold the power/DPI button for 5–10 seconds. The response says a white blink indicates a reboot; reconnect the cable afterward. This is guidance for that reported case, not a guaranteed diagnosis or fix for every mouse.
In the same January 28, 2026 response, Razer Support said red blinking while plugged in indicated that the battery was below 5% and not receiving sufficient charge in the case described. Treat that as case-specific support guidance, not a formal diagnostic specification for all units.

When to contact Razer Support
If the correct dongle, direct USB connection, pairing utility, firmware steps where applicable, and another-PC test do not resolve the problem, contact Razer Support for a device-specific assessment and warranty guidance. Have the model and serial number ready. Warranty terms depend on the applicable region; confirm them with Razer rather than assuming a particular coverage period.
Razer’s support pages are versioned and may change. The firmware and utility available for a mouse depend on its exact model, so verify the current download and applicability before installing anything.
