Review Antigravity agents’ plans, changed files, and task-specific evidence before accepting their work; then run the checks that establish whether the result behaves as requested. An approval pause or a screenshot is useful, but neither is proof that the code is correct. The right review process depends on the agent mode, review policy, operating system, and permission settings.

What to decide before reviewing an agent’s work

Turn the request into observable acceptance criteria before assessing the implementation. Write down what must change, what must stay untouched, and what evidence would show that the task is complete. For a UI task, for example, criteria might include a particular control appearing, a user action producing a specified result, and unrelated screens remaining unchanged.

This gives you a basis for comparing the agent’s plan, edits, and evidence with the actual request. Without it, a polished summary can sound convincing while omitting a requirement or expanding the task’s scope.

How mode and review policy affect approval

Antigravity’s Planning mode produces structured plans and artifacts. Fast mode is intended for simple, localized tasks and executes without a dedicated planning phase. Whether a plan or code diff pauses for approval depends on the artifact review policy, not simply on the fact that an agent is working. Google documents a Request review policy that pauses when a plan or diff is generated, and an Always proceed policy that bypasses that manual pause. See Google’s artifact review documentation for the mode and policy details.

Planning mode with Request review

Before approving execution, examine the proposed task groups and implementation plan. Check whether the scope matches your acceptance criteria, whether assumptions are reasonable, whether the sequence makes sense, and whether any proposed operation could affect sensitive or unrelated files. Use the review pause to ask for a narrower scope or a safer approach when needed.

Fast mode or Always proceed

Do not assume these workflows will present the same planning checkpoint. Fast mode has no dedicated planning phase, and Always proceed bypasses the documented manual pause for a plan or diff. In either case, inspect the resulting files and validate the outcome rather than treating the absence of an approval request as evidence that the work was safe or complete.

What to check before accepting code changes

Review the actual diff and affected files, not just the agent’s summary. Antigravity’s CLI documentation describes auditing generated code and attaching line-level feedback; reviewable outputs can also include plans, architecture diagrams, visual media, and browser recordings. The available artifacts depend on the task and interface. See the CLI artifact review documentation and the IDE overview.

  • Scope: Do the changed files correspond to the request? Look for unrelated edits, unexpected access, or work in areas the task did not require.
  • Destructive or structural changes: Check for deleted, renamed, or moved content and review whether those changes are necessary.
  • Dependencies and configuration: Inspect additions or edits to dependency manifests, build settings, environment configuration, and scripts. Confirm that they are justified and appropriate for the project.
  • Implementation: Compare the code with the plan and acceptance criteria. Look for missing behavior, inconsistent handling, and changes that do not match the agent’s explanation.
  • Project conventions: Check whether the edits fit the surrounding code and existing patterns rather than introducing unnecessary complexity.

A plan explains intended work; it does not show that the implementation matches it. Likewise, a clean-looking diff does not establish that the resulting behavior is correct.

How permissions change the approval boundary

Check the settings on the actual machine before delegating sensitive work. Permission behavior varies by operating system and configured preset, so do not assume that an approval prompt will appear or that the agent is confined to the project. Google’s agent settings documentation describes platform-specific controls.

macOS and Linux

Google documents three presets for the updated system on macOS and Linux:

  • Request Review: Approval is required for terminal commands.
  • Turbo: Commands run without prompting and isolation is removed.

These presets establish different command and isolation boundaries. Choose and verify the setting that matches the task’s risk rather than relying on the preset name alone.

Windows

Google says Windows retains the previous settings rather than the updated macOS/Linux system. The documented Windows controls include terminal command auto-execution, access outside the workspace, and terminal sandbox mode. Check those controls in your installation before assuming how commands or file access will be handled.

How to verify browser and UI work

For a UI task, compare three things: the requested behavior, the code changes that implement it, and the browser evidence showing the result. Antigravity agents can use the editor, terminal, and browser; review artifacts may include screenshots, recordings, or walkthroughs. Google describes these as useful context for inspecting an agent’s work, not as a universal correctness guarantee. See the Google Developers Blog’s Antigravity workflow description and the artifacts documentation.

  1. Match the evidence to the criteria. Check whether the screenshot or recording shows the relevant screen and user action, rather than only a visually appealing final state.
  2. Inspect the implementation. Confirm that the changed code plausibly supports the requested behavior and does not rely on an unrelated or temporary workaround.
  3. Exercise the behavior yourself when practical. Use the relevant route and controls, including important states such as empty, error, or success states when they are part of the request.
  4. Run the project’s checks. Use the tests, build, lint, or other validation appropriate to the project, and inspect failures rather than assuming the agent handled them.

A recording captures what happened in the shown session; a screenshot captures a particular view. Neither alone demonstrates every state, accessibility requirement, edge case, or future behavior. Choose additional checks based on the task’s acceptance criteria.

How to give feedback and review a revision

Make feedback specific enough to act on: identify the artifact or file, the observed mismatch, and the expected result. Antigravity supports inline artifact feedback and line-level comments in its CLI review workflow. These controls let you steer the agent; they do not replace validation. After a revision, inspect the updated plan or diff and repeat the checks relevant to the changed behavior.

The reviewer remains responsible for deciding whether the final work meets the request. Google’s documentation describes review interfaces and permission settings, but does not establish that artifact review alone guarantees correctness.
