For Battlefield 6 online multiplayer on Xbox console, the Xbox game listing names Game Pass Core or Ultimate as the required subscription, sold separately. Check the current plan comparison and your local Battlefield 6 listing before choosing: plan names and availability can vary by region and change over time. On PC, the console multiplayer subscription rule does not apply; PC Game Pass includes EA Play for PC, but that does not by itself confirm access to the full Battlefield 6 game.
Which Game Pass plan do you need for Battlefield 6?
It depends on where you play and whether you need online console multiplayer. Xbox’s US Battlefield 6 listing says: “Game requires online multiplayer subscription to play on console (Game Pass Core or Ultimate, sold separately).” That identifies the tiers on that listing, not a guarantee that every plan name currently shown in every region is interchangeable with them. Check the current Xbox plan comparison and the local game listing before subscribing.
- Xbox console multiplayer: The Xbox listing names Core or Ultimate. The game is a separate purchase.
- Windows PC: Do not apply the console multiplayer subscription requirement to PC. PC Game Pass includes EA Play for PC through the EA app, but EA Play membership alone does not establish that the full game is included.
- Xbox and PC, or interest in EA Play on both: Ultimate includes EA Play for Xbox and PC. Compare its current local price and benefits with what you will actually use.
How to choose based on your platform and use
If you play on Xbox console and mainly want Battlefield 6 online
Start by checking the multiplayer subscription named on your local Xbox Battlefield 6 page. The US listing specifies Core or Ultimate, sold separately. If you already own the game, you still need a qualifying subscription for console online multiplayer. If you have not bought it, compare the separate game purchase plus the qualifying multiplayer plan with the broader benefits of any subscription you are considering.
If you play only on Windows PC
PC Game Pass includes EA Play for PC, accessed through the EA app, according to EA’s Game Pass and EA Play help page. That EA Play benefit is separate from whether Battlefield 6 itself is in the Play List. EA’s Battlefield 6 purchase page lists PC as a platform and says a persistent internet connection and EA Account are required. Check the specific game offer before subscribing on the assumption it unlocks the full game.

If you play on both Xbox and PC
Ultimate includes EA Play on Xbox and PC, while PC Game Pass includes EA Play for PC. Ultimate may suit someone who wants both platform benefits, but there is no universal best-value plan established here. Compare the current regional price, included benefits, and your actual play habits on the Xbox plan comparison page.
Does Game Pass include the full Battlefield 6 game?
Do not assume that it does. EA Play membership and inclusion of a particular full game in EA Play’s Play List are different things. EA’s help page identifies which Game Pass plans include EA Play; it does not, by itself, promise full Battlefield 6 access. EA separately describes Battlefield 6-related EA Play benefits, such as rewards, and notes that selected new games may have trials. Those benefits do not prove that the full game or a trial is available to every member.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is Battlefield 6 a separate purchase?
Yes. Xbox lists Battlefield 6 as a separately purchasable Xbox Series X|S game and separately states the console multiplayer subscription requirement. Buying the game should not be treated as including Game Pass or online console multiplayer access. The Xbox US listing showed a $69.99 starting price when checked on October 7, 2026; that figure is region-specific and can change, so verify the live listing before buying.
