Choose XREAL One Pro if you want spatial screen anchoring and adjustable lens shading built into the glasses. Choose Rokid Max if its fit and vision-correction approach better suit you and a wired display is enough—or you are prepared to add Rokid Station 2 for spatial functions. Both are wearable displays that depend on a compatible video-output connection from a phone, computer, handheld, or other source. This is a feature-based comparison, not a hands-on performance test.

What is the main difference between XREAL One Pro and Rokid Max?

The key distinction is spatial use. XREAL documents native 3DoF and screen-following and anchoring modes for One Pro. Rokid’s support FAQ says Max and Max 2 rely on Station 2 for 3DoF; the glasses on their own are better understood as a wired personal display than a self-contained spatial display system.

That difference matters if you want a virtual screen to remain anchored in space as you move your head. If you mainly want a large private screen for video, games, or work, the display connection and fit may matter more than spatial modes.

Feature comparison

Feature XREAL One Pro Rokid Max and Max 2
Spatial features XREAL documents native 3DoF, Follow mode, and Anchor mode. Its developer specification describes tracking as 3DoF; this should not be read as evidence of room-scale 6DoF tracking. XREAL developer specifications Rokid says Max and Max 2 need Station 2 for 3DoF. Rokid support FAQ
Field of view 57°, according to XREAL. XREAL developer specifications Rokid lists 50° for Max 2. The cited FAQ does not establish a comparable figure for the original Max. Rokid support FAQ
Resolution 1920 × 1080 per eye. XREAL developer specifications Rokid says Max and Max 2 default to 1920 × 1080; 1920 × 1200 is possible with Station 2. Rokid support FAQ
Refresh rate XREAL lists 60, 72, 90, and 120 Hz modes. XREAL developer specifications Rokid states that Max 2 can reach 120 Hz with other devices and runs at 90 Hz system-wide with Station 2. These are Max 2 figures, not confirmed original-Max specifications. Rokid support FAQ
Lens shading Three electrochromic shading levels. XREAL One Pro product page Rokid says Max 2 has no electrochromic dimming and includes a blackout cover. The cited FAQ does not establish the same detail for original Max. Rokid support FAQ
Vision correction and fit Two IPD variants: 57–66 mm and 66–75 mm. XREAL also says it offers prescription lens services through optical partners in the US, EU, and UK. XREAL One Pro product page Rokid specifies a built-in -6.00D to 0.00D adjustment for Max 2 and says additional prescription lenses are available for needs outside that range. It also says Max 1 prescription lenses fit Max 2; these details should not be assumed to apply to original Max. Rokid support FAQ
Weight 87 g excluding cable, according to XREAL’s developer specifications. XREAL developer specifications Not stated for original Max or Max 2 in the cited Rokid FAQ. Rokid support FAQ

Choose by how you plan to use the glasses

Pick XREAL One Pro for native spatial screen modes

One Pro is the more direct choice if you want the display to follow your view or use an anchored screen without adding a separate Rokid Station 2. XREAL says the One family uses its X1 chip, and documents native 3DoF plus Follow and Anchor modes. Its stated 57° field of view is also larger than Rokid’s published 50° figure for Max 2, but that is not a like-for-like comparison with original Max because Rokid’s cited page does not confirm Max’s field of view.

Pick Rokid Max for its fit or correction approach

Rokid Max may be the better fit if the product’s physical fit and your correction needs align with it, and you primarily want a wired screen. Be careful not to transfer Max 2 specifications to the original Max: the cited Rokid FAQ assigns the -6.00D to 0.00D adjustment and 50° field of view to Max 2. Check the exact generation and your prescription before relying on those features.

Consider Station 2 only if its added functions matter

Rokid says Station 2 enables 3DoF for Max and Max 2 and can support 1920 × 1200 resolution with those glasses. For Max 2, Rokid states a 90 Hz system-wide refresh rate with Station 2; its separately stated up-to-120-Hz figure applies when Max 2 is connected to other devices. These statements are specific to Rokid’s documented configurations.

Check compatibility before buying

The glasses do not replace the need for a source device that can send video over USB-C. XREAL says the device must support USB-C DisplayPort output. Rokid specifies a USB-C 3.1 port with display output for direct connection. A USB-C connector by itself is not enough to establish compatibility.

  • Check the exact phone, computer, or handheld’s video-output support, rather than relying on its connector type.
  • For Nintendo Switch, XREAL identifies its Hub as an additional requirement. Rokid describes its Hub as a connection and charging option for compatible Android USB-C devices and Switch. Confirm that the hub and setup suit your exact device. XREAL connection guidance and Rokid support FAQ
  • If you need an adapter or hub, verify its video output and charging support for your source device; neither vendor’s guidance makes every USB-C adapter interchangeable.

Check fit, prescription, and product generation

For XREAL One Pro, compare your interpupillary distance (IPD) with the two stated size ranges before ordering. XREAL lists prescription lens services through optical partners in the US, EU, and UK; availability and the suitable insert depend on your location and prescription.

A true portable display you wear, in a soda-can-sized 210g case that drops in your pocket.
  • ALWAYS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU — The screen follows your view with smooth, stabilized tracking and stays centered as you look around—nothing to anchor or set up, and no drift to reset. Press play and your big screen is simply there.
  • 62G — LIGHT ENOUGH TO FORGET — At just 62g, with three nose-pad sizes and flexible temples, the a01+ stays comfortable through a long movie or flight, even lying down.
  • LOOKS LIKE SUNGLASSES, NOT A GADGET — A slim, sunglasses-style frame with a signature semi-transparent chassis and neon logo—light and low-profile enough to actually wear out.
  • WORKS WITH YOUR USB-C GEAR — No Battery to Charge — Connects and powers over a single USB-C DisplayPort cable: iPhone 15/16/17, iPad, DP-capable Android phones, Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Mac and PC. Nintendo Switch/Switch 2 and older (Lightning) iPhones need an adapter. For long phone sessions, add the XREAL Hub to charge and watch at once.

For Rokid, distinguish Max from Max 2 when checking prescription support. The cited Max 2 FAQ describes built-in diopter adjustment from -6.00D to 0.00D and additional prescription lenses for needs outside that range, but does not establish that built-in range for original Max. If you already have Max 1 lenses, Rokid says they fit Max 2; confirm compatibility for any other generation or accessory before purchase.

Verdict

XREAL One Pro is the stronger feature match for readers who want native spatial anchoring, three-step electrochromic shading, or XREAL’s documented 57° field of view. Rokid Max is the more fitting option when its fit and correction approach suit you and a wired display meets your needs; add Station 2 only if you want the spatial functions Rokid documents for that setup. Verify source-device video output and the exact glasses generation before choosing either.
