Which waffle maker fits your kitchen?
Choose Presto FlipSide 03510 for a full-size waffle and upright storage
The FlipSide makes the largest specified waffle in this group: 7 inches across, divided into four sections. Its base locks vertically for storage, and it includes a digital countdown timer. Presto describes the storage feature as: “Dual function base locks in a vertical position for compact storage.” Its 1100-watt rating is higher than the other listed flip models, but that alone does not establish faster cooking.
This is the storage-first pick if you want the larger Belgian-style waffle and can accommodate the machine’s operating footprint. The cited product information does not provide its operating dimensions, so upright storage should not be mistaken for proof that it uses the least counter space when cooking.

Choose Presto Flip 03517 for a smaller waffle and lower listed wattage
The 03517 makes a 5.5-inch waffle divided into four sections and lists 750 watts. It flips 180 degrees and stores upright, with a cord wrap. Compared with the 7-inch FlipSide, it trades waffle size for a lower wattage specification; wattage is not a performance ranking. Presto identifies its grids as PFAS-free nonstick.
Choose Dash DBWM600 for drip-tray cleanup
Dash’s flip model makes a 6.5-inch waffle about one inch thick. It sits between the two Presto waffle sizes and adds a dishwasher-safe drip tray, indicator lights, and a folding, locking handle for upright storage. Dash’s product page says its nonstick cooking surfaces contain PTFE; that disclosure describes the coating and does not, by itself, establish a broader chemical-safety conclusion.

Choose Cuisinart WAF-V100C for browning control in a narrow vertical body
Cuisinart Canada lists a vertical-pour machine measuring 7.50 × 6.50 × 12.20 inches, with five browning levels, indicator lights, an audible alert, and a measuring cup. It makes one round Belgian waffle per cycle. The cited page does not state the waffle diameter or wattage. Its listed price is $149.99 CAD and its warranty is limited to three years.

Vertical-pour is not the same mechanism as a flip waffle maker: instead of rotating a filled cooking chamber, this design fills through a spout. TechGearLab notes that vertical machines are tall and slim, and that batter consistency can affect filling. That observation is a practical consideration, not a guarantee that every batter will flow or cook the same way.

- Flip designs: You add batter to a cooking chamber, then rotate the filled chamber. The cited Presto and Dash models flip; their handles or bases also provide upright storage.
- Vertical-pour design: Batter enters through a spout rather than a rotating filled chamber. The Cuisinart WAF-V100C uses this approach and provides adjustable browning settings.
- Storage does not equal operating footprint: Upright locks and folding handles help with storage orientation. They do not establish how much counter area the appliance needs while open, nor do the cited listings provide a common set of operating dimensions for comparing all four.
TechGearLab evaluates waffle makers across cooking performance, ease of use, versatility, and safety features, and describes the Presto FlipSide as having a slim storage profile. Those are the reviewer’s assessment categories and observations, not hands-on test results for this article.

Before buying: a small-kitchen checklist
- Measure shelf or cabinet clearance for the appliance in its intended stored orientation, including its height when upright.
- Measure the counter area needed to fill, open, and operate the maker; storage dimensions alone do not answer this.
- Decide whether a 5.5-, 6.5-, or 7-inch waffle best suits your appetite and serving routine.
- Confirm that one waffle per cycle is enough for your household and how long you are willing to spend making a batch.

- Read the coating disclosure as written. Presto calls the 03517 grids PFAS-free; Dash identifies PTFE in the DBWM600 cooking surfaces. These different manufacturer descriptions should not be treated as equivalent or expanded into unsupported safety claims.
- Verify local model availability, price, warranty terms, and—for Cuisinart—the applicable regional listing before ordering.
