Choose the Logitech G Astro A50 X if you regularly switch among Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC and want to route console video and audio through its base station. Choose the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless if active noise cancellation and a swappable-battery system matter more to you. Neither is a universal winner: the Nova Pro Wireless has platform-specific versions, while comfort and current value depend on your fit and local buying options.

Which is better for switching between Xbox, PS5 and PC?
Astro A50 X: console routing through the base station
The A50 X is the clearer choice when your setup includes multiple consoles and you want to switch among them and PC using the headset system. Logitech says it connects to Xbox Series X|S and PS5 over HDMI 2.1, connects to PC or Mac by USB-C, and lets you switch platforms with a headset button. Logitech also lists Game/Chat mixing. See Logitech G’s A50 X product information.
Logitech advertises 4K 120 Hz passthrough. That is a manufacturer specification, not a guarantee that every console, display, cable and settings combination will work without adjustment. The console video signal passes through the base station, so check your available HDMI connections and the capabilities of the entire console-to-base-to-display chain before buying. Also confirm which cables are included and whether your current cables suit that setup.
Nova Pro Wireless: check the platform variant
SteelSeries offers platform-specific Nova Pro Wireless versions. Its support page says every version has two direct USB system connections, but only the Xbox version has a dedicated Xbox port. The flexible second port supports PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Switch, and Mac. Check the exact model and its connections against your devices before ordering, particularly if Xbox is part of your setup. See SteelSeries’ Xbox and PlayStation version guide.

If you want Xbox, PS5 and PC in one setup, the A50 X’s specified console routing makes it the more straightforward recommendation for frequent switching. The Nova Pro Wireless can still suit a multi-device setup, but its port arrangement and selected version matter. A September 22, 2026 GamesRadar Xbox headset roundup also points frequent multi-platform switchers toward the A50 X.
Which is better if you want ANC and battery flexibility?
The Nova Pro Wireless is the better match if active noise cancellation (ANC) and a swappable-battery system are priorities. RTINGS identifies ANC as a feature of the headset and distinguishes its Xbox and PC/PlayStation variants in its Nova Pro Wireless review. The A50 X’s main advantage in this comparison is its console routing, not a demonstrated advantage in those preferences.

Choose based on how you will use the headset: ANC may matter in a noisy room, while a swappable battery system may appeal if you prefer changing batteries rather than managing charging around play sessions. Verify the exact Nova Pro Wireless version and how its connections work with your devices before purchase.
Which headset sounds better?
RTINGS’ direct comparison, updated June 23–24, 2026, using Test Bench 2.3, finds the A50 X “ever so slightly better” overall for wireless gaming and describes its sound as more balanced, with a controlled mid-range. That is RTINGS’ test-based assessment, not a guarantee that every listener will prefer it. Sound preference is personal, so it should not outweigh the more practical platform or feature differences if those matter more to you. See RTINGS’ direct comparison.

What should you check before buying?
- List the devices you actually use. For the A50 X, account for its HDMI 2.1 console connections and USB-C PC or Mac connection. For the Nova Pro Wireless, confirm the selected platform version and how the two USB system connections map to your devices.
- Check the full display chain. If considering A50 X passthrough, verify console, display, HDMI ports, cables and settings together rather than relying on the 4K 120 Hz headline alone.
- Compare local prices and return terms. Comparable current street prices and warranty terms are not established here, so check the retailer and manufacturer information for your region before deciding.
- Assess fit for yourself. There is not enough direct evidence here to name a comfort winner. Prefer a retailer with a return policy that lets you evaluate fit during actual use.
Verdict
The Astro A50 X is the better pick for frequent Xbox, PS5 and PC switching when you want the base station to handle console routing. The Arctis Nova Pro Wireless is the stronger fit if ANC and a swappable-battery system are higher priorities—just make sure to choose the Xbox variant if you need its dedicated Xbox port. For sound, RTINGS gives the A50 X a slight edge in its comparison, but that is not a universal preference; neither headset is established as the comfort or value winner.
