By default, TikTok hides the liked-videos list from your profile. You can choose who sees it in Privacy settings: public accounts can select Everyone or Only you, while private accounts can select Followers or Only you.
Who can see your liked videos?
The setting controls whether people can view the list of videos you have liked on your TikTok profile. TikTok says likes are hidden from the profile by default when an account is created. The available audience depends on whether your account is public or private.
| Account type | Available audience | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Public | Everyone | Anyone can view the liked-videos list on your profile. |
| Public | Only you | The liked-videos list is visible only to you. |
| Private | Followers | Your followers can view the liked-videos list on your profile. |
| Private | Only you | The liked-videos list is visible only to you. |
TikTok also says approved followers of a private account can view its posts, bio, likes, and follower and following lists. For the specific liked-videos list, check the Liked videos control rather than assuming the account-wide privacy setting determines its audience.
How to hide your liked videos
- Open TikTok and tap Profile.
- Tap the Menu ☰ button, then Settings and privacy.
- Tap Privacy, then Liked videos.
- Select Only you to keep the liked-videos list off your profile for other people.
To let others see the list, choose Everyone on a public account or Followers on a private account. TikTok says you can change the visibility from your profile settings.

Does hiding likes make every like private?
Not necessarily. TikTok’s setting describes visibility of the liked-videos list on your profile. Its guidance does not establish that an individual like is hidden from the person who posted the video, or that a like cannot trigger a notification. Treat the control as a way to restrict the profile list, not as a guarantee that liking a video leaves no trace.

Menu labels and setting availability can vary by age, region, account type, and app version. Open the current Settings and privacy > Privacy menu and look for Liked videos. If it is not listed, update TikTok and check again; the exact control or choices available to your account may differ.
