On July 30, 2024, G.SKILL announced Trident Z5 Royal Neo DDR5-6000 CL28 memory kits for compatible AMD AM5 platforms. The announcement listed four two-module capacities, split across two complete timing sets, and specified support for AMD EXPO. It did not include independent performance testing.
Which Trident Z5 Royal Neo kits did G.SKILL announce?
G.SKILL specified four DDR5-6000 configurations. The 32GB and 64GB kits use CL28-36-36-96 timings; the 48GB and 96GB kits use CL28-38-38-96.

All four configurations are rated at DDR5-6000 and CL28, but the complete timing strings are not identical. The 32GB (2 × 16GB) and 64GB (2 × 32GB) kits are specified at CL28-36-36-96. The 48GB (2 × 24GB) and 96GB (2 × 48GB) kits are specified at CL28-38-38-96.

Those are the announced timings, not test results. The release does not show that one capacity or timing set performs better in real applications.
What do AMD EXPO and AM5 compatibility mean?
G.SKILL said the kits support AMD EXPO (Extended Profiles for Overclocking), which it described as enabling memory overclocking through the motherboard BIOS. The company positioned the specifications for compatible AMD AM5 platforms; support is not a guarantee that every AM5 processor, motherboard, or system configuration will run a kit at its rated settings.

Check the motherboard’s memory support information and the exact kit listing for compatibility before buying. EXPO settings are enabled through BIOS, and memory overclocking depends on the system’s components and configuration.
What did G.SKILL say about latency and performance?
G.SKILL described the kits as “ultra-low latency” and said DDR5-6000 CL28 aimed to provide a more optimized combination than DDR5-4800 CL40 on compatible AMD AM5 platforms. That comparison is the manufacturer’s statement, not an independent benchmark. The July 2024 release provides no measured performance uplift or workload results, so it does not establish how much faster the kits are in games or other applications.

When were the kits expected to reach distribution?
G.SKILL said the specifications would roll out to its worldwide distribution partners starting in August 2024. That was the company’s planned timing at announcement; it does not confirm current retailer stock, pricing, or availability.

This announcement specifically concerns the Trident Z5 Royal Neo DDR5-6000 CL28 configurations listed above. G.SKILL made separate low-latency memory announcements in January 2025 and showcased another series, Trident Z5 NeoX RGB, in June 2026. Those later announcements cover different news and should not be used to change the capacities or timing details of the July 2024 release.
