The 10th-generation iPad differs: it measures 248.6 × 179.5 × 7 mm, has Touch ID in the top button, a front camera on the landscape edge, and USB-C. Apple describes its display as 10.86 inches diagonally when measured as a rectangle. A case for the 10.2-inch generations may therefore have misaligned openings or not fit properly. OtterBox calls it “the best iPad (7th, 8th, and 9th gen) case with a folio for clear, scratch-resistant protection.” That is the manufacturer’s promotional wording, not an independent comparison. The same applies to the DROP+ claim: the product page associates “1X as many drops as military standard (MIL-STD-810G 516.6)” with this case, but that figure does not show how it compares with the other options.
Logitech Rugged Folio: keyboard integrated into the case
Logitech’s product page lists iPad generations 7, 8, and 9 as supported and describes the Rugged Folio as a protective keyboard case. Check the exact regional product listing and compatibility details before purchase.

How to choose between a folio and a keyboard case
- Choose a standalone folio if screen coverage and adjustable viewing angles matter more to you than having a keyboard attached. The documented OtterBox option folds into multiple stand angles.
- Choose a keyboard case if you want typing capability built into the case. Logitech Rugged Folio and ZAGG Rugged Book are documented keyboard-case options for generations 7–9.
- Consider coverage and carrying bulk. A folio that covers the screen and a case that protects the back and edges serve different needs. Keyboard integration can also make a setup larger or heavier than a standalone case; verify the product’s dimensions and weight on its current listing if those matter to you.
- Check the exact model on the seller’s listing. Manufacturer compatibility statements are a starting point, but confirm that the listing is for your generation and regional model, especially when buying a keyboard case.
