JumpCloud completed its acquisition of Resmo before announcing the deal on March 19, 2024. Financial terms were not disclosed. Resmo adds SaaS, cloud and IT-asset discovery and security capabilities to JumpCloud’s open-directory platform, with the stated aim of giving IT teams better visibility and control from a more unified console.
What JumpCloud acquired—and when
JumpCloud announced the acquisition of Resmo on March 19, 2024, and said the transaction had already closed. Resmo employees were offered employment with JumpCloud; the companies did not disclose the financial terms. JumpCloud’s announcement described Resmo as a specialist in asset management and SaaS security for cloud-native IT and SecOps teams.
What Resmo adds to JumpCloud
Resmo’s technology is intended to help organizations discover unmanaged SaaS applications and IT resources, enforce secure access, and improve visibility across the enterprise. JumpCloud’s existing platform focuses on identity, devices and access; adding Resmo broadens the scope to SaaS, cloud and IT-asset discovery and governance. JumpCloud’s description of the combined platform presents this as a way to manage these areas through one console.
Why discovery matters
Employees can sign up for software or cloud services without IT’s knowledge. That creates shadow IT: tools and resources that may be outside an organization’s security policies and inventory. JumpCloud co-founder and CTO Greg Keller put the risk plainly: “For IT teams, you can’t secure what you don’t know about.” The company’s rationale is that broader discovery can help teams find those resources and apply access and governance controls.

What the deal means for IT teams and MSPs
The acquisition’s value proposition is operational consolidation: bringing identity, device and access management together with visibility into SaaS applications and IT resources. For enterprise and midmarket IT and SecOps teams, that could reduce the need to switch among point tools when auditing assets and managing access. The announcement does not establish how much consolidation customers can achieve in practice or which capabilities are available in each current product package.
JumpCloud also framed the deal against tool sprawl. In 2024, the company cited sponsored third-party research saying 75% of IT administrators preferred a single tool for these critical tasks. It also cited its own customer research that administrators commonly needed five to 10 applications to manage the worker lifecycle. These are JumpCloud-reported figures, not independent findings presented by the acquisition announcement. JumpCloud’s cited figures
For managed service providers, a broader platform could be relevant if it helps oversee customer identities, devices, access and assets from fewer systems. But the announcement alone does not specify MSP packaging, partner terms, pricing or operating workflows. Those details should be checked against current JumpCloud information rather than inferred from the acquisition.
What JumpCloud said about the combined platform
Greg Keller said the integration would “enhance and simplify work for our customers, enabling them to discover unmanaged SaaS applications and IT resources, enforce secure access, and improve overall visibility across an enterprise.” Resmo co-founder and CEO Serhat Can said, “Everyone at Resmo is thrilled to join JumpCloud.” Resmo co-founder and CTO Mustafa Akın described the goal as secure, frictionless access that works with organizations’ chosen IT and security tools. The statements accompanied the acquisition announcement.

Company context and what the announcement does not establish
JumpCloud said in 2024 that more than 200,000 organizations were using its platform and that it had raised over $400 million from investors including General Atlantic, Sapphire Ventures, Sands Capital, Atlassian and CrowdStrike. Those are company-reported figures, useful as context for the buyer’s scale but not measures of Resmo’s impact after the acquisition. JumpCloud’s company information
The deal announcement does not establish current pricing, product packaging, feature availability, or partner and referral terms. It explains the strategic fit: Resmo’s discovery and asset-security capabilities were meant to extend JumpCloud’s identity-, device- and access-management offering, especially for organizations seeking to address shadow IT and tool sprawl.
