When was the Helegaly Action Pi supposed to launch?
On June 26, 2025, HotHardware reported that Helegaly planned to launch the Action Pi on July 5. The date was therefore the announced launch date, not a confirmed date of retail availability. HotHardware’s June 26 announcement also outlined the handheld’s hardware and launch bundle prices.
Why was the launch delayed?
Retro Handhelds published an update on July 5, 2025, reporting that Helegaly had delayed the launch after finding visual artifacts at the display edges during gameplay. The report says affected display modules were being replaced. The reproduced company statement refers to the originally scheduled date as July 5, 2024. That date conflicts with the report’s 2025 publication date and its surrounding discussion of the 2025 launch, so it appears to be an internal date error; it is not evidence that the Action Pi launched in 2024.

A later RetroSpecGame device listing records the Action Pi’s release month as July 2025. That supports July as the release month, but does not independently verify the exact day units became available or establish current stock. RetroSpecGame’s Action Pi listing shows a price of $64 as of August 22, 2026; that catalog figure does not confirm a current seller’s availability or the delivered cost.
