Upwind announced a $250 million Series B on January 26, 2026, at a valuation reported by TechCrunch as $1.5 billion. That is no longer the latest reported valuation: on September 2, Calcalist reported a later financing of about $300 million at roughly $3.8 billion. Those are private-company financing valuations, not public-market capitalizations.

How much did Upwind raise?

Upwind announced the $250 million Series B on January 26, 2026. CEO and co-founder Amiram Shachar said it brought the company’s total investment to more than $430 million. Upwind’s announcement described the funding as support for scaling and investment across AI, data, and code. TechCrunch also reported plans to spend on product development, go-to-market activity, AI security capabilities, and tools for addressing misconfigurations earlier in development; these were intended uses, not verified results. TechCrunch’s January coverage put the round’s valuation at $1.5 billion.

What is Upwind valued at now?

The $1.5 billion figure belongs to the January Series B. In a September 2, 2026 report, Calcalist said Upwind later raised about $300 million at an approximately $3.8 billion valuation. The later figure is media-reported and should be understood as a reported private financing valuation, not a public-company market capitalization. Calcalist’s report named Bessemer Venture Partners and TCV as leading the financing, alongside other participating investors.

Who led Upwind’s Series B?

TechCrunch reported that Bessemer Venture Partners led the January 2026 Series B, with Salesforce Ventures and Picture Capital participating. In Bessemer’s own January 26 investor announcement, the firm said it was backing a runtime-first cloud security platform and praised its appeal to security and DevOps teams. That is the investor’s rationale, not an independent product assessment.

What does Upwind do?

Upwind sells enterprise cloud-security software. It describes its platform as runtime-first: rather than relying only on static checks of configurations or code, it uses information from software operating in cloud environments to help security teams understand what is active and where risk appears. CRN reported that the product includes an eBPF-based sensor for real-time visibility into workloads, configurations, and applications. Calcalist described its broader cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP) scope as including cloud security posture management, workload protection, detection and response, and identity security. These are descriptions of product capabilities, not independent performance-test results.

How runtime context differs from static posture checks

Static posture scanning can identify risky settings or vulnerabilities without showing whether a particular workload is active or exposed in practice. Runtime context can add information about live workloads and observed activity. In principle, that context can help teams prioritize vulnerabilities based on where software is running and make alerts more relevant. This explains Upwind’s positioning; the sources cited here do not establish that it outperforms competing tools or quantify improvements in alert quality.

What is known about Upwind’s growth?

TechCrunch reported in January 2026 that Upwind’s revenue had grown 900% year over year since its 2024 Series A and that its customer base had doubled. The growth figure was reported by TechCrunch, not presented as audited financial results. The same coverage named Siemens, Peloton, Roku, Wix, Nextdoor, and Nubank as customers.

Upwind’s newsroom snapshot, accessed September 28, 2026, listed more than 300 employees and more than 150 customers. These are company-provided figures that can change. CRN reported that the company had added more than 100 partners in the preceding year, including managed service providers (MSPs) and value-added resellers (VARs); that channel figure was also company-disclosed.

What the funding does—and does not—show

The rounds indicate that investors committed substantial capital to Upwind and assigned it rising valuations in private financings. They do not, by themselves, demonstrate product effectiveness, profitability, or durable customer retention. The sources cited here provide no independent audited revenue figure or third-party product performance benchmark. Upwind’s stated investment priorities and reported growth are relevant context, but they should not be mistaken for independently verified outcomes.
