To transfer between two PCs, install Bravura Easy Computer Sync on both computers. The USBC-TRAN is a specialized PC-to-PC transfer cable, not a standard USB cable for connecting peripherals.
Which Windows computers can use the USBC-TRAN?
Plugable’s compatibility list covers Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8.x, 10, 11, and newer, including 32-bit and 64-bit editions. Plugable’s 2024 announcement specifically describes support from XP through Windows 11.
The compatibility claim is for Windows-to-Windows transfers. Plugable says the cable and its included Bravura Easy Computer Sync software are designed for that purpose, not for transfers involving macOS, Linux, or ChromeOS. Plugable also lists Windows S mode and ARM-based Windows as unsupported. Check the Plugable transfer-cable FAQ if either computer uses one of those configurations.
What the cable does—and does not do
The USBC-TRAN is a 2 m (6.6 ft) bridged transfer cable with USB-A and USB-C connectivity. It is intended to connect two Windows computers so Easy Computer Sync can move data between them. It cannot be used as an ordinary USB cable to connect a peripheral such as a drive, phone, or printer.

Plugable lists host interfaces for USB 2.0 (480 Mbps), USB 3.0 (5 Gbps), USB 3.0/USB-C (5 Gbps), and Thunderbolt 3/USB-C (10 Gbps). The listed interface rates describe link capability, not a guaranteed file-transfer speed. Plugable estimates about 5 GB per minute for USB 3.0 in related transfer-cable documentation, but actual transfer time depends on the computers and their storage drives.
What can you transfer?
Easy Computer Sync can transfer files and folders, including photos, music, and videos, as well as settings-oriented data. Installed applications generally need to be reinstalled on the new computer; moving their files does not make the programs operational there.

The package includes a full-use Easy Computer Sync license. Plugable says it permits unlimited transfers across an unlimited number of Windows computers and activations. Install the latest software on both PCs before connecting the cable.
How to set up a transfer
- Download and install the latest Bravura Easy Computer Sync release on both Windows computers.
- Connect the USBC-TRAN between the computers using the available USB-A and USB-C connections.
- Open Easy Computer Sync on both PCs and follow its transfer prompts to choose the data to move.

- Disconnect the transfer cable.
- Update Easy Computer Sync on both computers.
- Restart both PCs.
- Reopen the software on both computers, reconnect the cable, and try different USB ports if the waiting message remains.
How the USBC-TRAN differs from other Plugable transfer cables
The key distinction is connector compatibility: the USBC-TRAN combines USB-A and USB-C host compatibility. Plugable also lists the USB3-TRAN, which uses USB-A, and the TBT-TRAN, which supports Thunderbolt 3/4 and USB4. These are transfer cables rather than general-purpose peripheral cables; confirm operating-system support for the specific model before choosing one.
