What Dell means by RHEL “Certified” and “Validated”
Dell’s RHEL Support Matrix distinguishes the terms. “Certified” means a release was successfully certified, or certification was carried forward, and appears on Red Hat’s hardware certification page. “Validated” means it has been certified and tested by Dell Technologies teams. Dell also describes a “Fully Supported” level that includes validation and availability of Dell Systems Management tools; factory installation or Dell drivers may also be available. - Identify the exact Precision model and, if you already own it, use its service tag to open the matching Dell support page.
- On that product’s support page, review the operating systems listed. Confirm the exact Ubuntu or RHEL release you need; family-level or similarly named model information is not enough.
- If RHEL certification matters, check the matching platform and release in Dell’s current RHEL Support Matrix, including whether the entry is Certified, Validated or Fully Supported.
