G.SKILL says its existing and new DDR5 U-DIMM and CU-DIMM memory kits now support Intel XMP 3.0 with Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus Series processors and compatible Z890 motherboards. The announcement is about XMP profile readiness—not blanket Intel 200S Boost validation for every G.SKILL kit. Check the full memory part number against Intel’s current validation sheet and your motherboard’s QVL before buying or enabling a profile.
What G.SKILL announced
In an announcement dated 24 March 2026, G.SKILL said its existing and new overclocked-specification DDR5 U-DIMM (unbuffered) and CU-DIMM (clocked unbuffered) kits gained Intel XMP 3.0 support for Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus Series processors and compatible Intel Z890 chipset motherboards. The company says users can enable the profile in the motherboard BIOS to apply the kit’s memory settings. This is a manufacturer compatibility announcement, not independent testing of performance or stability across every processor and board combination. G.SKILL’s announcement
XMP 3.0 support is not the same as 200S Boost validation
XMP 3.0 is a memory profile: Intel describes profiles as preset combinations of speed, timings, and voltage tested by the memory manufacturer. A compatible BIOS lets the user select a profile instead of entering those values manually. Intel’s XMP overview
Intel 200S Boost is a separate feature with narrower requirements. G.SKILL’s 2025 description specifies an unlocked Intel Core Ultra 200S desktop processor, a compliant Z890 motherboard, and validated DDR5 memory with an Intel XMP 3.0 profile. It describes 200S Boost as applying XMP values automatically while also changing CPU parameters. Therefore, a kit having XMP 3.0 support does not establish that its exact model is included in Intel’s 200S Boost validation list. G.SKILL’s 200S Boost announcement

- Requires overclocking/BIOS adjustments. Maximum speed and performance depends on system components, including motherboard and CPU.
- G.SKILL Flare X5 Series DDR5 U-DIMM Memory Kit, Model: F5-6000J3636F16GX2-FX5
- Non-ECC, DDR5 U-DIMM, 288-pin, for Desktop PC & Gaming

- Do not mix memory kits. Memory kits are sold in matched kits that are designed to run together as a set. Mixing memory kits will result in stability issues or system failure.
How to check whether a kit fits your build
- Find the complete kit part number. Use the label on the kit or the product specification; a family name alone is not enough to confirm model-specific validation.
- Check Intel’s current “ARL 200S Boost” validation sheet. If you want 200S Boost, verify the exact model appears there. G.SKILL’s announcement links to Intel’s validated-kit information, but the supported list can be model-specific. Intel’s 200S Boost support information
- Check the motherboard maker’s QVL. Confirm the precise kit and its configuration against the qualified-vendor list for your exact Z890 board. Also check support for your processor, memory type, capacity, DIMM count, rated speed, timings, and voltage.
- Compare the configuration, not just the headline speed. A board’s support for one kit or DIMM arrangement does not automatically validate another. G.SKILL says maximum speed and stability depend on the compatible CPU and motherboard, and advises against mixing separate memory kits. G.SKILL Aegis 5 product specification
What the DDR5-8000 and DDR5-10000 figures mean
G.SKILL says kits carrying its 200S Boost badge are rated up to DDR5-8000, with a maximum rated voltage of 1.4 V. The 2025 announcement also describes validated models up to that speed and voltage. These are manufacturer-reported program and kit figures, not a guarantee that any XMP-ready kit—or every system—will run at DDR5-8000. G.SKILL’s 2026 announcement G.SKILL’s 2025 announcement
The same 2026 announcement reports a DDR5-10000 Memtest validation on an ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z890 APEX motherboard with an Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus desktop processor. That is a manufacturer-reported demonstration on a named configuration, not a typical kit specification, a general compatibility promise, or an independent benchmark. The announcement does not establish typical gaming gains from enabling XMP.

Enabling XMP in BIOS and understanding the trade-offs
To use a kit’s XMP profile, open the motherboard BIOS and select the relevant memory profile. The exact menu name and location vary by board maker and system OEM; Intel directs users to those vendors for the appropriate setup instructions. Intel’s profile setup guidance
Enabling a profile applies its preset speed, timings, and voltage, but the resulting speed and stability depend on the processor, motherboard, memory kit, and configuration. Intel warns that changing frequency or voltage beyond Intel specifications may affect processor warranty coverage; overclocking can also affect system stability and component life. If the system becomes unstable after changing settings, return to BIOS and restore default memory settings, then consult the motherboard maker or system OEM.
