Yes. Pixel phones and Pixel Tablets running Android 15 or newer can sync notification dismissals: clear or open an alert on one participating device and it can disappear from the others. Turn on Dismiss notifications across Pixel devices on every device, select the same Google account, and keep the devices connected to Wi-Fi for syncing.
Set up notification syncing on each Pixel
- Update each participating Pixel phone or Pixel Tablet to Android 15 or newer.
- Open Settings > Notifications.
- Under Sync across devices, tap Dismiss notifications across Pixel devices.
- Turn on Dismiss on this device.
- When prompted, tap Go. On the Notification read, reply, and control screen, enable Allow notification access for Device Connectivity Service, then tap Allow.
- Return to the cross-device setting and select the Google account you want to use.
- Repeat the setup on every Pixel device that should share notification status.
The setting is not enabled by default in Android 15, according to 9to5Google. Each participating device needs the setting enabled and the same Google account selected, as described by Android Central and Google Support.
What happens after setup
When the feature is active, dismissing or opening a notification on one participating device dismisses it on the others. The devices must be connected to Wi-Fi at the time for notification status to sync; without Wi-Fi, the change may not propagate until connectivity is restored. The capability is described as Pixel-exclusive, not a general setting for non-Pixel Android devices.
Which devices and situations it supports
| Setup | Requirements | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Pixel phone and Pixel phone | Supported Pixel devices on Android 15 or newer; same Google account; enable the setting on both; Wi-Fi for syncing. | Keeping work and personal phones, or a primary and backup Pixel, in step. |
| Pixel phone and Pixel Tablet | Supported Pixel phone and Pixel Tablet on Android 15 or newer; same Google account; enable the setting on both; Wi-Fi for syncing. | Clearing an alert from both screens when you use the same notifications on a phone and tablet. |
| One Pixel, one noisy app | No cross-device setup; adjust that app’s notification settings on the device. | When multiple alerts come from one app on a single phone rather than from separate devices. |
If the duplicate alerts come from one app
Cross-device dismissal is for notifications repeated across participating Pixel devices. If one app is generating unwanted alerts on a single device, touch and hold one of its notifications and turn that app’s notifications off, or open Settings > Notifications > App notifications, select the app, and change its notification setting. This affects that app’s alerts rather than syncing dismissal status between devices, per Google’s notification guidance.
