In Chrome Unboxed’s May 2025 unboxing, its US 128GB configuration was selling below $300, with occasional dips around $260–$270—but those are historical prices, not a guide to current offers. The first look makes the tablet seem most compelling for video, browsing, and note-taking, rather than as a compact handheld or laptop replacement.
What the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro unboxing shows
Chrome Unboxed’s May 23, 2025 video and article are an initial unboxing and first-impressions report, not a long-term review. Robby Payne says Lenovo sent the unit. In that package, he found a pen and a 45W power adapter; Lenovo’s published box contents also list a USB-C cable, microSD tray pin, and documents. Lenovo cautions that bundles and charger availability vary by market, so buyers should check the listing for their region rather than assume every box includes the same items. Lenovo’s Ireland product page identifies the Idea Tab Pro as the evolution following the Tab P12.
The pen in the unboxed unit attached magnetically to the tablet’s back for storage, but Payne says it did not charge there. A keyboard case was a separate optional accessory, with the tablet offering Pogo pins for the connection. The unboxing does not establish that the pen or keyboard is included in every regional package.
Display, sound, and hardware
Chrome Unboxed describes a 2944 × 1840 display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 400 nits of brightness, alongside four speakers. Tech Advisor’s May 2025 review likewise describes a 13-inch IPS panel at 2944 × 1840 and quad speakers. The diagonal is described as 13 inches by Tech Advisor and as 12.7 inches in other coverage; it is best understood as a 13-inch-class tablet. The panel is IPS, not OLED. Tech Advisor found it large and useful but said it could be brighter, a consideration for bright rooms or outdoor use. Tech Advisor’s review provides its separate assessment.

Lenovo’s 2025 worldwide datasheet lists a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, a microSD card slot, an 8MP front camera, a 13MP rear camera, and a weight of 620g. The processor is positioned as capable for the price, rather than cutting-edge. The weight and broad screen area make it better suited to a stand, desk, or two-handed use than to extended one-handed reading.
What it seems suited to—and where it has limits
Video, browsing, and everyday media
Payne found the display smooth and the speakers surprisingly impressive in his initial look, which supports the tablet’s appeal as a media device. These are reviewer impressions, not instrumented measurements. Lenovo advertises up to 11 hours of YouTube streaming in its 2025 datasheet; that is a manufacturer estimate, and Lenovo says actual battery life varies with configuration, use, settings, network, and other factors.

Note-taking and accessories
The unboxed pen and large display make note-taking a plausible use, while magnetic storage keeps the pen attached when not in hand. Since it does not charge on the back in Payne’s unit, users should plan to charge it separately. Lenovo lists a Folio Case and 2-in-1 Keyboard Pack as accessories; the keyboard is not part of the standard package by default, and availability can vary by market.
Gaming and heavier workloads
Payne reports a brief Call of Duty Mobile session that felt smooth at the settings he selected. That single session is not a benchmark and does not establish performance across games or demanding workloads. For comparison, Tech Advisor reported around 11 hours in its mixed browsing, gaming, and digital-magazine use, and 10 hours 4 minutes in its PCMark Work 3.0 test. Those figures are Tech Advisor’s 2025 review measurements, not Lenovo’s streaming estimate and not a guarantee for another user.

Tech Advisor judged the Idea Tab Pro suitable for media and note-taking but not a laptop replacement. The large format can also feel unwieldy for handheld use, and the display’s brightness and the processor’s performance ceiling matter more for users prioritizing outdoor viewing or sustained intensive gaming.

Tech Advisor’s May 2025 review listed contemporaneous UK and US prices that differed from those observations, reinforcing that price depends on date, country, retailer, and storage. Who should consider the Idea Tab Pro?
- Consider it if a large, sharp screen and quad speakers matter more than compact size, and your main uses are video, browsing, or note-taking.
- Check the bundle carefully if a pen or keyboard is essential: the unboxed pen was present in Chrome Unboxed’s unit, but Lenovo warns that bundles vary and the keyboard is optional.
- Look elsewhere or compare carefully if you need a bright outdoor screen, a light one-handed tablet, sustained high-end gaming performance, or a device intended to replace a laptop.
- Compare like with like by regional price and storage, display size and IPS panel, speaker quality, processor demands, weight, stylus storage and charging, and whether a keyboard is actually included.
