What makes the eiP USI 2.0 Pro different?
Many USI styluses activate automatically. The eiP USI 2.0 Pro instead has a physical power button, so you can deliberately control when it is active. A quick press turns it on; holding the power and tail buttons together for three seconds turns it fully off. The manufacturer presents the switch as a way to save battery by avoiding unwanted activation (eiP product listing).
Its titanium-gold aluminum barrel has a D-shaped, flat side intended to improve grip and keep the pen from rolling on a desk. That is a design feature, not evidence of measured durability or a particular writing advantage.
Will it work with your Chromebook or Pixel Tablet?
eiP markets the pen for Amazon Fire Max 11 (2023), the 11-inch Google Pixel Tablet, and selected Chromebooks. The manufacturer describes compatibility as model-specific, so confirm your exact device against its listing rather than assuming that all Chromebooks or tablets with stylus support are compatible (eiP product listing).

USI 2.0 devices generally do not require Bluetooth pairing for the pen to write. ChromeOS’s stylus compatibility specification requires certified styluses to meet USI Stylus Certification Requirements version 2.0 or newer and include a fuel-gauge feature (ChromeOS USI stylus specification). That protocol support does not ensure every app shortcut works on every device. eiP specifically warns that some devices, including Chromebook Duet, may not support all shortcuts (eiP product listing).
How the buttons and app shortcuts work
The tail button can act as an eraser in Squid, OneNote, Google Keep, and Sketchbook. On Google Pixel Tablet, the power button can invoke the lasso tool in Squid. These actions depend on the app, device, and USI implementation; do not assume that a button will perform the same action everywhere.
- Turn on: press the power button briefly.
- Use a shortcut: try the tail button as an eraser in one of the named apps. On Pixel Tablet with Squid, try the power button for lasso selection.
- Turn fully off: hold the power and tail buttons together for three seconds.
If a shortcut does nothing, check the app and device documentation and confirm that the specific workflow is supported. The available product information does not establish a universal shortcut setting or shortcut-success rate.

Pressure, nib, and writing feel
The pen is specified at 4096 pressure levels and has a cone-like nib intended to provide a stable, pen-like feel. eiP also advertises palm rejection and pixel precision (eiP product listing). These are specifications and product claims, not independent measurements of latency, precision, or palm-rejection performance.
Pressure sensitivity depends on the app and selected brush. eiP’s guide notes that some apps or brushes do not support pressure sensitivity (eiP user guide). If pressure variation matters to your drawing or handwriting workflow, verify support in the app and brush you actually use.
Power, charging, and replacement nibs
Chrome Unboxed reported in 2025 that the stylus sleeps after 10 minutes of inactivity, offers up to 100 hours of active use, and takes about 60 minutes to charge fully over USB-C (Chrome Unboxed, August 1, 2025). Treat these as reported product claims, not independently tested battery results; actual runtime can depend on usage.

The useful comparison is not pressure-level count alone. Lenovo’s USI Pen 2, for example, is listed by Lenovo with USI 2.0 support, up to 4096 pressure levels, tilt support, and automatic sleep after inactivity (Lenovo USI Pen 2 specifications). Those specifications do not establish which pen feels better or lasts longer in use.

Choose the eiP if its exact device compatibility, physical power control, and named app shortcuts suit your workflow. Consider another USI pen if you need a feature such as explicitly listed tilt support, or if its compatibility is better documented for your device.
