The CMF Buds Pro 2 stand out for a control you don’t usually get on wireless earbuds: a customizable Smart Dial built into the charging case. Nothing also advertises hybrid noise cancellation, dual drivers and up to 43 hours of total playback with the case. Those are manufacturer claims, not independent test results. The headline’s $59 price is not confirmed as the current US price: the US listing checked for this article showed $49 with $69 crossed out, while Nothing’s UK page listed £59.
What makes the CMF Buds Pro 2 different?
The case-mounted Smart Dial is the model’s clearest differentiator. Instead of relying only on touch controls on the earbuds, you can configure the dial in the Nothing X app to handle volume and playback by rotating it, and assign press gestures to other actions. Nothing lists options including noise cancellation, voice assistant, low-lag mode and microphone mute.
Nothing’s support page says the dial supports rotation, single-, double- and triple-click, long-press, and double-click gestures. The available support information does not establish a complete menu-by-menu setup path, so consult the current Nothing X app and support documentation for the controls available to your device.
A dial may be useful if you prefer tactile case controls or want to adjust audio without reaching for your phone. It may matter less if you usually control playback from your phone or use the earbuds’ own controls.

What features and specifications does Nothing advertise?
The official CMF US listing describes these features and figures. They are manufacturer specifications and claims; this article does not independently verify their performance.
| Feature | Manufacturer-listed detail |
|---|---|
| Drivers | 11 mm bass driver paired with a 6 mm tweeter |
| Noise cancellation | 50 dB hybrid active noise cancellation |
| Microphones | Six HD microphones |
| Battery | Up to 43 hours of total playback with the case; Nothing also advertises seven hours of playback from a 10-minute charge |
| Other features | Spatial audio effect, dual-device connection and IP55 protection |
Battery life varies with usage and settings; the stated maximum should not be treated as a guaranteed result for every listening session. Nothing describes its spatial audio effect as using a head-related transfer function (HRTF). That is the manufacturer’s explanation of the feature, not evidence that every listener will perceive the same effect.

How good are the sound and noise cancelling?
The 50 dB hybrid ANC figure is a manufacturer specification, not a direct comparison with competing earbuds. It does not by itself show how effectively these buds reduce particular sounds in everyday use. Fit, the seal in your ears and the noise around you can all affect the experience.
Tom’s Guide describes the Buds Pro 2 as bass-forward in its listening review and cautions that driver size or count alone does not establish sound quality. That is the reviewer’s subjective impression, not a universal result. If you can, judge the sound with music you know well and consider whether you prefer a bass-forward presentation.

How much do the CMF Buds Pro 2 cost?
Price depends on market and can change. In the official US checkout listing checked in 2026, the price displayed was $49, with $69 crossed out. Nothing’s UK product page displayed £59. Tom’s Guide’s review page, dated November 7, 2025, contextualized the model at $69 / £59. These listings do not verify that $59 was the US price at the time implied by the original headline, or that any of these figures remains current.
Check the official listing for your country before buying, and compare the final checkout price rather than assuming a crossed-out price is the regular price everywhere.

How to decide whether they suit you
- Consider them if: a case dial for volume and playback sounds useful, you want the advertised combination of ANC, dual-device connection and app-configurable controls, or you like a bass-forward sound.
- Look more closely at alternatives if: your priority is independently verified noise-cancelling performance, a particular fit, or a sound profile other than bass-forward. The available evidence does not establish comparative test results for those needs.
- Compare on more than drivers: Tom’s Guide discusses the EarFun Air Pro 4+, EarFun Air 2 NC and JLab Go Pods ANC as alternatives. Compare current prices in the same market, control options, advertised ANC and microphone features, battery claims, fit and sound preference. Driver count alone is not a sound-quality verdict.
