What the project listing is
PCBWay and Hackster list a project by Arshmah Shahkar, published January 28, 2022. PCBWay describes it as a mobile jammer circuit and links to schematic, board, Proteus, and bill-of-material materials. Hackster identifies a NE555 timer, a general-purpose NPN transistor, capacitors, resistors, a 9V battery, an LED, a slide switch, and a header connector.
Those details identify what the creator’s pages present; they are not independent validation, performance measurements, or instructions to build the circuit. The project author describes its intended function as blocking signals between a mobile phone and a base station. In practice, intentional interference may affect communications beyond a particular phone or room.
What Proteus simulation does—and does not—establish
The project listing includes Proteus simulation materials, but the sources reviewed do not independently verify the simulation or show that a physical module achieves the described effect. They provide no defensible measured range, output, or success rate. A simulation file or schematic should therefore not be treated as proof of real-world performance, safety, or legal compliance.

Legal restrictions depend on where you are
Jammer laws differ by jurisdiction. The official guidance below is specific to the named authorities and dates; it is not a substitute for checking current rules where you live.
- United States: The FCC’s enforcement advisory issued October 15, 2012 says jammer use is illegal without federal authorization, including on private property, and warns against importing, advertising, selling, or shipping jammers. Consult current FCC guidance for the applicable requirements: FCC jammer enforcement.
- Australia: The Australian Communications and Media Authority says operating, supplying, or possessing a mobile-phone or GPS jammer is banned under the Radiocommunications (Jamming Equipment) Permanent Ban 2023. Its guidance was updated July 22, 2026: ACMA: GPS and mobile phone jammers.
- Canada: Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada says jammers are prohibited and describes them as equipment capable of interfering with, disrupting, or blocking radiocommunication signals and services. Its cited guidance is dated January 2025: ISED: Jammers are Prohibited in Canada: That’s the Law.
Why interference can put people at risk
A jammer is not a dependable privacy or room-control tool: radio interference can extend beyond the intended target. ACMA warns that mobile and GPS jammers can prevent emergency calls and affect telecommunications and other radio services; the FCC also identifies risks to emergency and authorized communications. That makes the potential impact broader than the person or device someone intends to silence.
