AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner 2020 is a historical SitePoint Premium video course, not a current CLF-C02 exam-prep course. SitePoint says it was published in July 2020 and contains 114 videos covering AWS cloud concepts, services, security, billing and pricing. If you are preparing for AWS certification now, use AWS’s current CLF-C02 exam guide to check whether the course’s lessons match today’s objectives.

What is the SitePoint Premium course?

SitePoint’s course page describes a 114-video course intended to build understanding of the AWS Cloud, billing, pricing and security, as well as help learners prepare for the Cloud Practitioner exam. Its listed lessons include cloud concepts, global infrastructure, getting started, hands-on work, a technology overview, billing and pricing, EC2 pricing, security and a “variation study.” View the SitePoint course page.

The page displays 2,232 “Happy students” and a 5.0 rating from 2 ratings. Those are figures displayed by SitePoint, not independently verified measures of course outcomes; the rating is based on a small number of ratings.

Does it prepare you for the current AWS exam?

Not by itself, based on the available course description. The course dates to July 2020 and was made for the exam version available at that time. AWS retired CLF-C01 after September 18, 2023, and began offering the updated CLF-C02 exam on September 19, 2023. A 2020 course should not be treated as current CLF-C02 preparation unless its lessons have been checked against the latest exam objectives. AWS’s CLF-C01 to CLF-C02 transition announcement.

AWS describes CLF-C02 as a foundational certification demonstrating overall AWS Cloud knowledge independent of a specific job role. The current exam overview lists a 90-minute exam with 65 multiple-choice or multiple-response questions and a USD 100 fee; these details can change, so confirm them on AWS’s certification page before booking.

What the current CLF-C02 exam covers

AWS’s current guide assigns the following weights to the four CLF-C02 domains. Use the domain names and task statements in the guide—not the apparent similarity of an older lesson title—to decide whether the course is relevant to your preparation.

How to use the course if you already have access

  1. Open the current CLF-C02 exam guide and review every domain and task statement.
  2. Compare the guide with the course’s listed lessons. Mark a topic covered only when the lesson addresses the current objective, rather than relying on a broad label such as “technology overview.”
  3. Use the course for explanations or introductory context where it matches, then fill any gaps with current AWS preparation materials and practice questions.
  4. Check whether the course includes useful feedback, hands-on access or labs, and confirm its current access terms on SitePoint; the page’s present availability and terms are not established here.

AWS’s current certification page points candidates to an Exam Prep Plan, practice questions, a pretest, digital courses, Builder Labs, Cloud Quest and Jam. Its current certification preparation resources provide a more suitable starting point for a new CLF-C02 candidate than relying on an older third-party course alone.

How it differs from the exam’s original context

The older CLF-C01 guide, version 1.6, recommended at least six months of AWS Cloud experience in any role and a basic understanding of IT services. It also directed candidates to AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials, AWS Technical Essentials, AWS Business Essentials, selected whitepapers and support-plan information. That was historical guidance for CLF-C01, not a current prerequisite for CLF-C02. AWS’s CLF-C01 exam guide.

AWS’s 2020 preparation page framed the certification as a way to demonstrate an overall understanding of AWS Cloud independent of a specific technical role, and organized preparation around training, whitepapers, exam readiness, scheduling and continued learning. That background helps explain the course’s original purpose, but the current guide should govern today’s study plan. AWS certification preparation page.
