What did NetMotion bring to Absolute?
Absolute characterized NetMotion as a Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) business serving more than 3,000 organizations. Its platform brought together three capabilities for distributed workforces:
- Enterprise VPN: virtual private networking for secure, high-performance connections.
- ZTNA: Zero-Trust Network Access, which provides a secure-access approach based on policy rather than relying only on traditional network boundaries.
- DEM: Digital Experience Monitoring, which gives organizations visibility into users’ digital experience.
Absolute already offered Endpoint Resilience capabilities, including self-healing for endpoints and applications. The strategic rationale was that combining those capabilities with NetMotion’s connectivity, monitoring and policy controls could better address customer needs around SASE and zero trust.

What happened to NetMotion after the acquisition?
NetMotion’s technology became part of Absolute’s product strategy. An October 27, 2021 Absolute announcement described an early integration milestone: adding Absolute Application Persistence capabilities to NetMotion’s ZTNA products. Application Persistence was presented as a way to help applications remain operational, extending Absolute’s endpoint-resilience approach into NetMotion’s secure-access offering.
This documented milestone shows product integration, but it does not by itself establish the later status of every NetMotion product, brand, or customer contract.
