VIZIO described Internet Apps Plus as a full-screen app library with a carousel launcher, HTML5 app support, and second-screen control through a smartphone or tablet. It also allowed users to browse apps while live TV continued playing.
How did HDMI pass-through work?
The Co-Star LT had both HDMI input and HDMI output. A cable or satellite box could connect to the player’s input, with the player’s output going to the TV. This allowed users to browse streaming apps while live TV continued, without switching the TV to a different input. The HDMI input was for passing through a connected video source; it was not a replacement for the device’s own streaming apps.
Which apps and media features did it offer?
VIZIO’s 2013 product materials listed Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, MGO, Vudu, Hulu Plus, iHeartRadio, Facebook, and YouTube among the featured apps. The list reflects the services named at launch; it does not establish that those apps remain available or compatible today.
The player supported 720p and 1080p output, including 1080p Full HD, and 3D pass-through. These are the specifications in VIZIO’s 2013 Co-Star LT datasheet; they are not independent test results.
