You can use Meta Muse on an iPad with iPadOS 18 or later by installing Muse from Meta from the App Store, then signing in if the service is available to your account and region. Start with a task you can verify, connect only the apps it needs, and review any proposed action before approving it.
Check iPad compatibility and availability
The current App Store listing requires iPadOS 18.0 or later and lists Muse as free with in-app purchases. Check the iPad’s software version in Settings > General > About. If it is below iPadOS 18, update through Settings > General > Software Update, if an update is available for your model.
Find the official listing by searching the App Store for Muse from Meta and confirming the developer is Meta Platforms, Inc. The listing identifies iPad as a compatible device: Muse from Meta on the App Store.
Having a compatible iPad does not guarantee you can sign in. Meta’s September 2026 announcement describes a rollout in the United States on iOS, Android, and muse.ai. That does not establish availability in every country or for every account. The App Store listing reviewed for this guide is Canadian, so check the listing and sign-in flow available to you rather than assuming the US rollout applies everywhere. Meta’s launch details are in its September 2026 announcement.

Install Muse and try a first task
- Open the App Store on the iPad and search for Muse from Meta. Confirm Meta Platforms, Inc. is the developer before installing.
- Open Muse and sign in if the service is offered for your account and region. If you cannot access it, a compatible iPad alone may not resolve the availability limitation.
- Begin with a task that needs no connected account. For example, ask Muse to compare a few options or draft a plan that you can check yourself. Meta describes Muse as able to answer questions, browse, plan, and handle multi-step tasks; the exact result depends on the task and available access.
- Set boundaries in the request. State the desired result, relevant context, constraints, and where Muse should stop for your review. For example: “Compare these three options using price and battery life. Do not buy anything; show me the sources and ask before taking any action.”
Connect apps only when a task needs them
Some tasks require access to a connected service; others can be done without linking an account. If Muse offers a connector for the task, choose the minimum permissions needed. Meta says users can choose which apps Muse connects to and change or revoke that access later. Where a service supports separate read and write permissions, you may be able to allow viewing without allowing changes.
- For a plan or comparison: start without connecting other apps.
- For email or calendar help: consider whether read access is enough, and grant write access only if the task requires it.
- For a purchase or other consequential action: state that Muse must pause and ask before acting. Review the exact details in any approval request.
These permission and connector descriptions come from Meta, not an independent security audit. Meta’s engineering team describes its Sentinel system and permission controls in its Muse safety post. Meta also acknowledges that prompt injection remains an open problem and that Muse can make mistakes.

Review actions before approving them
Meta says Muse asks for approval before sensitive actions such as sending email or making a purchase, and provides an activity trail. Treat the approval prompt as a chance to inspect the proposed action, not as a formality.
- For a message, check the recipient and the text being sent.
- For a purchase, check the item, price, quantity, and destination.
- For a booking or calendar change, check the date, time, location, and affected people.
- Decline or revise an action if anything is wrong or unclear.
Meta’s safety post says the approval requests are presented through the client. The company also cautions that Muse may make mistakes; do not approve a consequential action until its details are correct.

What Meta says Muse can do
Meta describes Muse as a personal AI agent that can work across tasks, browser use, and connected apps. Its announcement says it can open a browser, fill forms, negotiate, and continue working after the app is closed, then return when a task changes or it needs approval. The App Store description lists examples including email and calendar help, reservations, reminders, price comparisons, expense tracking, fitness planning, and small-business tasks.
These are Meta’s descriptions of the product, not a guarantee that every feature will work for every user, account, connector, or region. The App Store listing warns that Muse may be inaccurate or take unexpected actions.

Manage access and understand the privacy disclosures
Meta says users can disconnect services, review an activity trail, and opt out of having interactions used to train Meta AI models. You can also change the access granted to connected apps. Review the available controls in Muse before linking sensitive accounts or assigning permissions.
The App Store privacy panel says Meta indicated the app may handle categories such as health and fitness information, financial information, location, contacts, user content, browsing and search history, identifiers, usage data, and diagnostics. This does not mean every category is collected from every user: Apple says the disclosures are provided by the developer and have not been verified by Apple, and that practices can vary by features and age. Check the current listing’s privacy section for the disclosures that apply when you install.
