You can describe where you put the item in natural language, optionally add a photo, and later ask Gemini where it is or check Find Hub’s remembered items tab. It’s a storage note—not live tracking—and Google says it requires Android 16 or later in a country where both Gemini and Find Hub are supported.
How Gemini remembers an item’s location
Google announced the feature in its September 1, 2026 Android Drop. You tell Gemini where you put an item, and Gemini saves that remembered location in Find Hub. Google’s example is: “Hey Google, remember in Find Hub that I put my passport in my bedroom drawer.” You can also include an optional photo.
Later, ask Gemini where the item is or open Find Hub and look in its remembered items tab. The saved information is the location you supplied; the announcement does not describe it as a live signal from the item.
Do you need a tracker tag?
No. This feature is intended for remembering where you stored an item that does not have a tracker tag. You can save a location note for an untagged passport, for example, without buying or attaching a tracking accessory.

A tracker tag serves a different purpose: it is a separate option for locating an object that can carry one. Choose based on the job you need done—recording a place you put something, or using a tag to locate a tagged object. Google’s announcement does not establish specific tag models, accuracy comparisons, prices, or battery life.
What devices and countries are supported?
Google specifies Android 16 or later, and availability in countries where both Gemini and Find Hub are supported. The announcement does not provide a complete device or country list in its feature description. Because availability can change, check Google’s current service availability for your location and device before relying on the feature.

How this differs from Android’s other organization tools
Android’s notification auto-grouping reduces notification-shade clutter by combining multiple notifications from one app, as described in Google’s Android features directory. Digital Wellbeing addresses screen habits and interruptions: its tools include app-time tracking, daily limits, and Focus Mode, which can pause selected distracting apps, as outlined on Google’s productivity page. Those tools target digital attention; Gemini’s remembered locations address the separate problem of forgetting where a physical item was put.
