To find out whether a game is available on your platform, open the official store page for the exact game and check the listed platform or supported operating systems. If you play on PC, also compare the game’s system requirements with your computer. A franchise search result or a listing for another console does not prove that the version you want will work on your device.
Check the exact game listing in its official store
Search for the full game title in the storefront where you intend to buy it, then open that game’s own page. Read the supported platforms on the listing rather than relying on a search snippet, a franchise page, or the fact that a related game is sold there. Confirm that the listing is for the title and edition you want, and that it is available to buy in your region.

Match the listing to your console or PC
For a console
Check the exact console name and generation. A game listed for one console is not automatically available for a related model, and backward compatibility does not mean every title or feature works the same way. PlayStation describes PS4 and PS5 backward compatibility, while noting that a game’s cross-gen status affects whether players on those systems can play and chat together. Nintendo’s Americas FAQ says Nintendo.com digital game purchases support Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. It also says a Nintendo Account must previously have accessed the eShop on a Switch 2 or Switch before purchasing through Nintendo.com. The FAQ lists the countries where that service is available; these details are specific to the Americas FAQ and should not be assumed to apply in other regions. For a PC
“Available on PC” does not necessarily mean the game will run on your computer. Check both the supported operating system and the minimum hardware requirements. Compare the listed OS version and architecture, processor, memory, and graphics hardware with your PC’s specifications. Steam specifically cautions users to check hardware requirements as well as compatible operating systems; a 64-bit Windows requirement, for example, is not met by a 32-bit Windows installation. On Epic Games Store, the game’s Platform field identifies supported platforms, and its system requirements are shown near the bottom of the listing. Check region, account, and purchase conditions
Before paying, make sure the store serves your country or region and that your account meets any stated purchase prerequisites. Digital availability can vary by region. For example, Nintendo’s Americas FAQ specifies both eligible countries and a prior eShop access condition for Nintendo Accounts purchasing through Nintendo.com; that example does not establish the rules for other regions or stores. Check the policy and listing shown for your own account.
Verify multiplayer features separately
Platform availability and multiplayer compatibility are different questions. If you plan to play online with friends, look for the specific game’s support for online play, cross-play between platforms, or cross-generation play between console generations. Do not infer these features from a game being available on both systems. PlayStation notes that cross-gen status affects playing and chatting across PS4 and PS5; the individual game’s information is still the relevant check. PlayStation: PS5 backward compatibility

- Search the exact game title in the official store where you plan to buy it.
- Open the title’s listing and confirm the specific platform and console generation, or the PC operating system it supports.
- For PC, compare the listed OS and hardware requirements with your computer’s actual specifications.
- Check that the listing is available in your store region and that your account meets any stated purchase conditions.
- If you need multiplayer, verify online, cross-play, or cross-generation support for the exact game and platform combination.
- Recheck the listing before checkout, since availability, editions, requirements, and regional access can change.
If more than one version is listed, compare the supported platform and generation, PC requirements, release status, included edition content, region or account limits, and multiplayer features. Use the exact listing and the applicable regional policy for details; there is no single rule that covers every store’s edition contents or refund terms.
