To report a misleading Google Search ad, open its information or options control, select Report ad, choose the reason, and submit the form. If the ad is no longer visible, you can report a recently seen ad through My Ad Center, find an advertiser’s ad in the Ads Transparency Center, or use Google’s general reporting form.
Report the ad while it is visible
- Confirm it is a Google ad. Google ads can appear in Search results and Google Shopping. On other sites or apps, the AdChoices icon paired with an ad information icon can identify a Google ad; Google also runs ads on YouTube. See Google’s guide to reporting an ad for identification details.
- Open the ad’s information or options control. While viewing the ad on Google Search or another supported Google surface, look for the information or options icon.
- Select “Report ad.” Choose the reason that best matches your concern and complete the form. Describe the specific wording, claim, or omission that seemed misleading. Google’s instructions do not say that a particular attachment or piece of evidence is mandatory.
- Submit the report. Google says it sends an email confirmation, then reviews the report and takes appropriate action if necessary. It does not specify a review deadline or guarantee removal or any other particular outcome.
Choose another reporting route if the ad is gone

Describe what seems misleading
Google’s Misrepresentation policy concerns ads or destinations that leave out relevant product information or give misleading information about a product, service, or business. Examples in Google’s policy include misrepresenting a business’s identity, affiliations, or qualifications; using an inaccurate business name; claiming an unauthorized affiliation or endorsement; and making deceptive or unrealistic claims. You can use these examples to explain your concern, but a report alone does not establish that a policy was violated.
Google also says its third-party policy prohibits blurring the difference between paid Google Ads and organic search results, misrepresenting Google products, and making false claims about Google advertising costs or guaranteed placement. That policy is specifically framed around third-party policies and advertiser partners, so its examples should not be treated as a description of every consumer ad report. What to expect after submitting
Google says it will email a confirmation and review the report. Its help page does not promise a response time or say that the ad will be removed. Describe the concrete feature that concerned you rather than presenting an unverified policy violation as an established fact.
