The due date is stored on the card; the reminder and notification settings determine whether Trello alerts you.
Set a due date and reminder on a Trello card
- Open the card in the Trello iOS app.
- Add a due date, or open the card’s date controls to edit its existing date.
- Tap Set Reminder.
- Choose when you want Trello to remind you.
- Tap Save.
Trello’s date controls also support a due time and a start date. For the documented iOS flow, see Atlassian Support’s guide to adding dates to cards. Button labels can vary as the app changes.
Why a Trello due-date notification may not appear
Setting a due date alone does not guarantee an alert. The card needs a reminder, and Trello’s notification rules and device settings must allow the notification.
- Check the card reminder: Open the card’s date controls and confirm a reminder is selected.
- Check whether you’re watching the card: Trello’s upcoming due-date notifications apply to cards you watch, or cards in a list or board you watch.
- Check Trello’s push settings: In the app, open the Notification tab, tap the settings icon, and review which actions or categories can send push notifications.
- Check iOS permission: In the iPhone or iPad Settings app, confirm Trello is allowed to send notifications.
These checks address different parts of delivery: the card reminder sets the alert timing, while watch status and notification permissions affect whether Trello can notify you.

Remove a due date
Open the card, select Dates, then tap Remove. This removes the date from the card.
Recurring due dates and calendar options

Trello’s documentation says recurring due dates can be configured on the web. In the mobile app, you can view and interact with cards whose recurring dates were set up on the web, but you cannot create new recurring due dates directly in the app.

Planner
Trello Planner on mobile can show cards with due dates from your personal boards and, on shared boards, cards assigned to you. Scheduling or adding focus time in Planner does not change a card’s due date.
Subscribe to a board calendar
If you want due dates visible in iOS Calendar, Trello’s guide directs you to sign in to Trello in a phone browser, open the board’s Calendar View, enable the calendar URL if necessary, and copy the feed into your calendar app. The guide says this setup is not available in the Trello or Google Calendar mobile apps. After subscribing, configure alerts in the calendar app; those alerts are separate from Trello’s card reminder.
