To renew an expired McAfee subscription billed directly by McAfee, sign in to My Account, open Account > Subscriptions, view expired subscriptions, find your plan, and select Renew. Check the price and subscription term shown for your account before you purchase; the available options can vary by region and billing provider.
First, find out who bills your subscription
The company that charges you determines where to renew or manage auto-renewal. If McAfee bills you directly, manage the subscription in My Account. If a retailer or another provider bills you, use that provider’s account or support process instead. McAfee’s subscription support guidance directs customers with third-party billing to the provider that bills them.
Renew an expired subscription billed by McAfee
- Sign in to My Account using the account associated with your subscription.
- Open Account > Subscriptions.
- Choose the view for expired subscriptions and locate the plan you want to renew.
- Select Renew, then review the renewal price and term displayed for your account before completing checkout.
This route is documented in McAfee’s UK FAQ. The exact labels can differ by region or change as McAfee updates its account interface, so follow the options currently shown in your account if they look different.
Check the renewal price and term before paying
Do not assume your renewal will cost the same as an introductory offer or a previous term. McAfee’s US auto-renewal terms say the renewal price in effect at renewal applies and that pricing may change with advance notice. Those terms do not establish one universal price for all plans, accounts, or regions. Use the amount and term shown during renewal and review the terms applicable to your account.

If you want to stop auto-renewal instead
For a subscription billed directly by McAfee, the auto-renewal control is in My Account under Subscriptions, according to McAfee’s support instructions. Turning auto-renewal off does not end the term you have already paid for; the subscription remains available through that term.
Removing or changing the payment card on file is not a substitute for cancelling auto-renewal. McAfee says that changing or removing a card does not cancel the subscription or turn auto-renewal off. Use the subscription setting instead.

If you bought McAfee through a retailer or partner
Follow the seller’s instructions to manage billing. Depending on how the purchase was made, you may need to activate a retail or partner subscription before it is usable. McAfee’s subscription management help describes this activation distinction, while its current support guidance says third-party-billed subscriptions are managed by the billing provider.
McAfee’s legacy help also says, “If your subscription expires, you can renew it at any time.” Treat that as general guidance, not as a promise about a particular retailer’s renewal process, current prices, or account interface.

Renew the existing plan or buy a new one?
If you want to continue the coverage on a subscription billed by McAfee, the expired-plan Renew option is the documented account path. If you are considering a new purchase instead, compare the plan, coverage, term, billing provider, and renewal conditions shown at checkout; the available sources do not establish current price comparisons across McAfee plans or retailers. A purchase through a retailer or partner may have separate activation or billing steps.
