Start with where and how you will listen—not the brand name or a headline specification. For commuting and travel, prioritize a closed fit, noise control, battery life, and portability. For quiet-room listening, an open wired model may suit you better, provided your audio source can drive it. For calls and work, check fit, connection options, and whether the model’s noise-control features match your environment.
Choose headphones for your listening environment
Sennheiser’s models can serve very different purposes. A closed circumaural Bluetooth headphone with active noise cancellation (ANC), such as the MOMENTUM 4 Wireless, is designed for a different use case from the open, wired HD 600. Decide whether you need a travel headphone, a work-and-calls option, or a wired headphone for listening in a quieter room before comparing models.

- Commuting and travel: Consider a closed fit, ANC, battery life, and included carrying or travel accessories.
- Office or calls: Consider comfort over long sessions, device connection, and whether transparency mode or ANC suits your surroundings.
- Quiet-room listening: An open wired headphone may be appropriate, but account for sound leakage and the capabilities of your audio source.
Understand what noise cancellation can—and cannot—do
ANC reduces some surrounding sound; it does not create silence. Sennheiser’s MOMENTUM 4 manual says, “Continuous and low-frequency noise, such as motor or fan noise, is particularly well suppressed.” It also notes that speech and higher-frequency noise may remain perceptible. That is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent comparison of ANC performance.
If you want to hear some of your surroundings without removing the headphones, check whether the model offers a transparency mode. The ACCENTUM Wireless SE’s official US product page lists transparency mode.

Compare battery life using the stated test conditions
Battery claims are useful only when you keep their conditions attached. Sennheiser’s 2026 product specifications give these maximum Bluetooth playback figures with ANC enabled, tested using an iPhone at medium volume:
| Model | Manufacturer-stated playback | Test condition |
|---|---|---|
| MOMENTUM 4 Wireless | Up to 60 hours | Bluetooth playback with ANC, using an iPhone at medium volume; Sennheiser product specifications accessed in 2026. |
| ACCENTUM Wireless SE | Up to 50 hours | Bluetooth playback with ANC, using an iPhone at medium volume; Sennheiser product specifications accessed in 2026. |
These are manufacturer figures, not independently measured results. Check the product page for charging details and confirm that the exact model and regional variant match the one you plan to buy.
Check fit and comfort in person if possible
Comfort is personal: ear-cup depth and space, clamp force, headband fit, and glasses can all affect how a headphone feels over time. Official product pages describe comfort, but they do not establish a fit that works for every head. If you can, try the headphones on and check whether the cups and headband remain comfortable after more than a brief listen.

Match the connection to your devices
For Bluetooth listening
The MOMENTUM 4 lists Bluetooth 5.2 and support for aptX Adaptive, AAC, and SBC codecs. Check your phone, computer, or other source for compatibility with the features you care about; codec support on the headphones does not guarantee that every source will use every codec.
For a wired open-back headphone
Sennheiser lists the HD 600 as a wired, open circumaural headphone with a 3.5 mm connector and 300-ohm impedance. Before choosing it, check whether your source can drive a 300-ohm headphone appropriately. Its open design and cable make it a different proposition from a portable wireless ANC model.
Check durability, package contents, and the exact variant
Do not infer water or dust protection from a model’s price or intended portability. Sennheiser’s official comparison page says the MOMENTUM 4 is not IP rated; that is not the same as a water-resistance rating.

Package contents can vary by product and edition. Sennheiser’s US MOMENTUM 4 page lists a carry case, USB-C charging cable, 3.5 mm/2.5 mm audio cable, and airplane adapter. The official US ACCENTUM Wireless SE page lists a BTD 600 dongle in the Special Edition package; do not assume it is included with every ACCENTUM version or in every market. Confirm the exact SKU and bundle on the regional product page before buying. Warranty terms can also depend on region and purchase channel, so check the terms that apply to your seller and location.

MOMENTUM 4 Wireless: a closed wireless travel or everyday option
Sennheiser lists circumaural fit, Bluetooth 5.2, hybrid adaptive ANC, and up to 60 hours of Bluetooth playback with ANC under its iPhone-at-medium-volume test condition. Its comparison page describes the tuning as “Warm, Bass-Driven” and states that the model is not IP rated. Those specifications make it a useful comparison point for travel and everyday wireless listening, but they do not establish that it is the best choice for every buyer.

ACCENTUM Wireless SE: compare features and the regional bundle
The official US page lists hybrid ANC, transparency mode, a five-band EQ, and up to 50 hours of Bluetooth playback with ANC under the stated iPhone-at-medium-volume test condition. It lists a BTD 600 dongle in the Special Edition package. Check the local price, SKU, and included accessories in your market before judging its value against another model.
HD 600: an open wired option for a different setup
Sennheiser Hearing support lists the HD 600 as a dynamic, open circumaural wired headphone with 300-ohm impedance, a 3-metre cable, a 3.5 mm connector, and a weight of 260 grams. Its open construction and wired connection make it a better fit for a suitable quiet listening setup than for someone seeking a closed portable ANC headphone. Sennheiser’s support article was updated on 31 August 2026.
